Billy hasn't accepted yet anyway so it isn't getting processed before this sim but there is going to have to be more going to the Pacers.
Opening up the this trade I was expecting a) more than 2 1sts b) AT LEAST one of Tskitishvili or Dunleavy

In an attempt to make this trade make sense, I assumed that was Tayshaun Prince and not Taurean's busted ass

In BK's defense, I dont think the market was that great for Ewing. He doesnt rebound or block at an elite level and only contenders want him. Most contenders already have their D/R bigs and dont want to give a lot up for a small upgrade their that would take shots away from their actual scorers.

Someone was advising him. I made stronger offers but this is what he and his advisor came back with.

Most contenders already have their D/R bigs and dont want to give a lot up for a small upgrade their that would take shots away from their actual scorers. For instance, I offered Pau, my 50 1st and Ron Mercer for Ewing but was reluctant to give up anything more because he actually blocks less shots than Pau and Rebounds less than Pau. He is better, but he wasnt worth selling the future off to get better efficiency at the C position while sacrificing blocks and rebounds. Especially when he is 32 and an expiring, so no guarantee you get him next year. Also, clearly the market wasn't that great for Ewing if that is the best trade offer he got.

I would be open to talking for Ewing... I didn't know that was an option.

Especially when he is 32 and an expiring, so no guarantee you get him next year. Really wish people would quit saying this. There is effectively 0 chance you lose Ewing if you truly want him back. [tr][td class="content"][article] Also, clearly the market wasn't that great for Ewing if that is the best trade offer he got. Or maybe he is a new GM who just started less than 2 days ago and doesn't understand value in the league yet.

Now that I have a few minutes, I don't believe this is as unfair as people are suggesting it is. He is getting back Bogut, who is an obvious downgrade from Ewing but is a starter. He is also getting a 23-year old wing with an SC left and A- B+ scoring grades. He is also getting a lotto pick. Ewing is elite, but he is 32 and expiring. He can likely be resigned with a 19m offer and will likely be elite for 2-3 more years. But he could not resign and he could retire or have a bad TC.

Come on, Bogut is matching salary and nothing more. He is trying to rebuild, Bogut has no value or future with his team. The only pieces of value he is getting are the firsts and to a very small degree OG. The "23 year old wing with an SC left and A- B+ scoring grades" is expiring and as a guy coming off a rookie deal, Billy will have to pay him a decent chunk of change to make his tanking roster better or let him walk. Neither is ideal. Also, every veteran sim GM knows OG is a case where his grades look better than he really is. A brand new GM would have no idea about that so I am not shocked at all that is the wing moving in this trade. Also, as a team trading one of the best players in the league and his most valuable trading chip, he is failing to get either of the two most interesting prospects who have value on the team he is trading with. He is getting back one possible lotto (hanging on by 0.5 games right now, but 2 games out of home court in the first round and 6 games out of the 1 seed) and a likely late round 1st.

He doesn't have his pick so Bogut is a replacement for this year and could be resigned cheaply and traded next season.
I never made an offer including OG. Whoever is advising him must have suggested OG. I think OG is underrated because of Ian's incessant complaining. He needs to become a better shot blocker but his TOs have improved and he still has an SC.

I'd like to see other offers he got....but this isn't great.
Arguing in favor of the trade, Ank fleeced me for Okafor and no one said it should be veto'd. I got like 2 2nd round picks + dump bucks + matching salaries. That guy was young and good. Maybe not Ewing good, but still.

The Kings pick is now 1.18 or 1.19 depending on tiebreaker so there goes the lotto pick label.

He doesn't have his pick so Bogut is a replacement for this year and could be resigned cheaply and traded next season. How does it affect the Pacers and their rebuild if the pick he doesn't own this year is 6th or 8th? It doesn't, Bogut is matching salary. You're an intelligent guy, be reasonable. Trying to boost up value on the other side of the trade when you actually know better is not a good look. I'm not falling for that crap anyway and it just makes you look like you're trying to pull one over on everybody. The reasoning of "he came back with this and I accepted" is fine from your end, you don't need to try to sell me on how good the players he is getting is. I know what he is getting.

I am saying it is not as unfair as people are making out to be. Nothing more than that.
I said it wasn't the best offer I made. He didn't like my best offer. I can't help that.
Soup, you are a national treasure. Why do you insist on making shit up?
