Hello there! (shoutout to Morris L. Tibbs). I went back and looked at all of the drafts and ranked the top picks by draft position. I left out the creation draft because that would've been too easy. Let's get started.
1st Pick - Magic Johnson
Teams: Clippers (3001-04), Magic ('05-11), Lakers ('12-present)
Honors: 1x champ, 6x MVP, 11x All-Star, 10x 1st team All-League, 3001 ROY
Career stats: 27.3-10.3-9.3-2.1-2
Easy choice at [HASH]1. Magic is the greatest player in 4.0 history, posting ridiculous all around numbers, including two triple-double seasons. With twice as many MVP awards as the next closest player (Skywalker), Magic walks away with the coveted Highest Individual Value (HIV) award.
Next in line: Oscar Robertson
Creation pick: Dr. J
2nd Pick - Charles Barkley
Teams: Kings (3004-07), Bucks ('08-09), Clippers ('10), Hawks ('11-12), 76ers ('13-present)
Honors: 1x champ, 9x All-Star, 5x All-League 2nd team. 3004 ROY
Career stats: 25.7-11.2-4.1-2.7-1.8
Another well-rounded player (literally). With five 2nd team all league honors, Sir Charles is the Susan Lucci of the SF position. He did get his title before Magic, so there's that.
Next in line: Wilt
Creation pick: Gervin
3rd Pick - Neon Boudeaux
Teams: Nets (3002-04), Kings ('05-07), Jazz ('08-11), Bucks ('12), Raptors ('13-present)
Honors: 1x champ, 2x All-Star, 1x All-Defensive 2nd team
Career Stats: 19.4-12.6-3.4
The third overall pick in the draft hasn't produced a whole lot. Shaq-Faux gets the nod over Hakeem on the strength of his all-star game appearances.
Next in line: Hakeem, Jerry West
Creation pick: Skywalker
4th Pick - Greg Monroe
Teams: Magic (3005-11), Kings ('12-present)
Honors: 1x champ, 7x All-Star, 3x 1st team and 4x 2nd team All-League, 3006 DPOY
Career stats: 22.3-12.3-4
Monroe has been outperforming his grades since day 1. One of the top defensive bigs in the league who helped the Magic win a sim league record 72 games en route to a title. Isn't missed in the Atlantic.
Next in line: Shareef, Ellis
Creation pick: Kareem
5th Pick - Sam Perkins
Teams: Bullets (3004-11), Clippers ('12), Suns ('13)
Honors: 3x All-Star, 2x 2nd Team All-Defense, All-League 3rd team
Career stats: 18.8-10.6-3.6
Unlike the asshole on the left, who drafted Kwame in real life, Big Smooth has exceeded expectations in sim league. He gets the nod over Moncrief because I say so.
Next in line: Moncrief
Creation pick: Walton
6th Pick - Alvin Robertson
Teams: Wolves (3004-10), Clippers ('11-12), Rockets ('13-present)
Honors: 1x champ, 5x All-Star, 1st Team All-League (3012)
Career Stats: 25.7-9.4-6-2.3
This was the hardest one. You could make a strong case for Cliff T. Robinson, but Robertson's playoff MVP put him over the top. Playoff point guard killer and fellow wife beater Jason Kidd was also considered.
Next in line: Cliff, Kidd
Creation pick: Alvan Adams
7th Pick - Eric Bledsoe
Teams: Bullets (3005-forever)
Honors: 3011 MVP, 4x All-Star, 2x 1st Team All-League
Career stats: 25.6-8.9-5.4-2.3
Next in line: Pee Wee, Big Dog
Creation pick: Moses
8th Pick - Emeka Okafor
Teams: Grizzlies (3006-09), Bulls (3010-present)
Honors: 1x champ, 4x All-Star, 3006 ROY, 3012 DPOY, 3013 1st Team All-League
Career Stats: 23.8-12.9-3.1
Easily the best player from the 3006 (2004) draft class. Easily the most suspect picture I've seen of a sim player. Those bushy 'brows would make Bogdan blush.
Next in line: Walter Davis, Lance Stephenson
Creation pick: Westphal
9th Pick - J.R. Smith
Teams: Raptors (3006), Bulls ('07-present)
Honors: 3009 Dunk Contest champ, 3010 & '11 3 point champ,
Career stats: 19.3-6.6-3.5
First guy on the list who hasn't made an All-Star team. Gave Ricky Sobers the pipe every time they played.
Next in line: Eddie Jones I guess
Creation pick: Bobby Jones
10th Pick - Dominic Long
Teams: Hawks (3007-present)
Honors: 3007 All-Rookie Team
Career stats: 18.5-9.8
This was the first guy who came up when I googled Dominic Long. Call him if you're in the UK and need a lawyer. The 10th pick sucks.
Next in line: McRae, Turpin, Kittenfish (will eventually end up [HASH]1)
Creation pick: McAdoo
11th Pick - Champ Godbolt
Teams: Bucks (3004-09), Celtics ('10-12), Kings ('13-present)
Honors: 1x champ ( :cmonson:), 4x All-Star, 4x 1st Team All-League, 3007 DPOY, 2x 1st Team All-Defense
Career stats: 24.2-10.4-2.5
Beast. Another guy who plays above his grades. Did you know he was teammates with Rick Carlisle at Maine before transferring to Holy Cross and becoming the last pick of the 7th round (184th overall) in the 1984 NBA draft? Tell a friend.
Next in line: Niang
Creation pick: Lanier
12th Pick - Khalid Reeves
Teams: Heat (3002-05), Nets ('06-08, '13), Rockets ('09-11), Pacers ('12), Mavs (present)
Honors: 2x champ, 5x All-Star, 2x Playoff MVP, 1st Team All-League (3006)
Career stats: 26.2-9.2-4-2.3
The best player from the strong 3002 (1994) draft. Scat skeeted on Canes' title dreams by stealing him away right when Miami was about to take the next step. Dropped a league-record 75 points on an Atlantic division team that shall remain nameless. Helped kick off the Dilnasty before leaving to join Dil's minor league affiliate. He'll probably lead Soup to a title before bouncing on him because that's what this sim ho does.
Next in line: Fazekas
Creation pick: Lionel Hollins
13th Pick - Cole Aldrich
Teams: Pistons (3005-10), Warriors ('11), Jazz ('12-13)
Honors: none
Career stats: 10.6-7.8-1.7
Skinniest dude at fat camp.
Next in line: bums
Creation pick: Jamaal Wilkes
