As you know, I polled the league to get a 1-5 rating on each GM. I then averaged all that shit and this is what I got. Most people filled one out so we have a pretty decent sample size, except for JHB, who I left off the list. Sorry JHB. I still got plenty of votes for him so no harm done. A few people didn't vote for themselves and a few didn't vote for pete, fason, tyler, and even kn88 for some reason.
Tier 1
1. Soup - 4.82
2a. Buster - 4.61
2b. Dirt - 4.61
This tier is pretty much what you would expect. Soup up top with Buster and Dirt following. If not for a few unexplained 2s Trofie would be here. I was close to bumping him up anyway, but the gap was too big. All three of these dudes can build a finals quality team almost effortlessly. When they want to be a contender, they're a contender.
Tier 2
4. Trofie - 4.37
5. 2poor - 4.24
6. Dilworth - 4.17
7. ankly - 4.03
Again, this tier is what you would expect. Perhaps I should have combined tiers 2 and 3, but nah. This tier does raise a few more questions than the previous. Is a should be 3peat really enough to make us forget about 2poor's struggles in Miami? Why don't people respect trofie as much as the tier 1 guys. Will ankly or dil ever close the gap between tier 1 and 2? Where are Bruns and Ian?
Tier 3
8. Bruns - 3.68
9. Ian - 3.66
Well, here are Bruns and Ian. They should probably be tier 2, but they came up just short. It's a real tragedy. Perhaps they jump up next time.
Tier 4
10. Druce - 3.24
11. Jerry - 3.18
12. Ocho - 3.06
13. JHB - 3
14. duc - 2.95
15. bankz - 2.94
16. scat - 2.92
17. tyler - 2.88
18a. ved - 2.84
18b. rv - 2.84
20. canes - 2.81
and this is where we find the bulk of the leauge, competent GMs who just aren't quite elite for one reason or another. JHB might would have been a bit higher with more votes. I'm not entirely sure why canes is as low as he is. Perhaps the mishandling of the McAdoo situation is what caused him to slip a bit. I think tyler gets a spot here simply because of that fluke title, same for scat and his lotto luck.
Tier 5
21. fason - 2.61
22a. mj - 2.58
22b. handsomepete - 2.58
24. kn88 - 2.56
25. skrouse - 2.37
26. ht - 2.29
27. oops - 2.28
28. dump - 2.24
This tier seems to be new guys and older guys who either have terrible luck or can't change their bad name. kn88 seems to still be sitting in the new guy tier despite being here for a good while now. Can he end this perpetual tank and finally start competing? Can MJ finally get some lotto luck? I'll tell you one thing, dump won't be here for long. I have faith in the dude to not fuck this team up, maybe I shouldn't but I just have this feeling that his turn is coming. HT is doing his best to work out of it, too, but losing Lanier and Buse really set him back. Fason and Pete both look like promising young GMs. How long until they bump some more experienced tier 4 guys down the totem pole?
Shit Tier
29. devine - 1.89
30. rw - 1.75
I'm sure everyone expected we'd end up here, and we did. I believe both of these GMs are perfectly competent, until they let their emotions get involved. RW took over a team that was bench players away from competing on an elite level, then immediately destroyed it so he could compete sooner. devine seems to be tanking? maybe? I don't know.
Tier 1
