I'm bored at work so I will be seeding the Eastern Conference.
Favorites
1.Nets - I have the Nets as the #1 seed coming off their title run. They have a noticeable loss down low in Shaq, but I think the others will pick it up. Frontcourt isn't to deep but the backcourt more than makes up for it. This team will be the 1 seed if they stay healthy.
2. Bucks - Might be the deepest team in history. Wow look at that roster. The frontcourt won't block a ton of shots but the wings makeup for it. MKG was a key addition even though he went -4 after getting paid. Overall this team should win the Central . Willie Lewis is back for another championship run. Gbr
3.76ers- I went back and forth between the Nets and sixers for the #1 spot. Sixers will have the biggest turn around in the league. But was Taco right? Could they be two pieces away. I say no. Havlicek doesn't look as sexy as he did last year imo. Will this team have enough efficient scoring? We will see.
4. Celtics - Still has the best combo in the league. His negligence on finding a pg will hurt him. Francis was a key cog that he didn't attempt replace. Terrible gming there. Looks like a frontrunner for the worst GM of the Year. Maybe that's the new dynasty.
Next Level
5. Cavs- I have the Cavs a level below the others. It's essentially the same team as years past but older. He won't get over the hump yet. I think the scoring will be there. But the defense will not be.
6. Bullets - Might be the best offensive team in the east. But they will be vastly undersized and lack depth. Wouldn't be surprised to see them make 1 final Farewell run in the playoffs. Kn will finally have to rebuild.
7. Knicks - Eric will probably be shocked to see the Knicks at #7, as am I. I initially had them pegged as #9 but bumped them up after noticing he signed PJ Brown. Last seasons Knicks team was a mirage.
8.Pacers - I've got the Pacers anywhere from 2-10 in the highly competitive East. They have a tremendous duo down low. But lack outside scoring and a true 2 guard imo. Will get blocks and boards on the reg though.
Just Out
9. Bobcats - Odin has an interesting team. One that I could easily see in the playoffs. They have a lot of size and could manipulate the lineup many ways. Depends on which style Odin will run with. I think his small lineup would prove to be his most efficient
10. Hornets- this team will go as far as Vince takes them. They don't have a ton of scoring so they will need him to take the next step. I'm not sure why he added spud other than the fact he is dangling Ruud. His best chance is to run. Carter at the 3 and put Ruud at the 2, Webb at pg. He will need to outscore the opponent to win games.
Not quite there
11. Magic - splashed on Shaq but are still a long ways away. Reed looks like shit. Cp3 hasn't had any help so it's tough to blame him. Otto Porter will likely be dealt at the deadline for some future pieces imo. They need to hit on a lotto piece badly.
12.Hawks- decided to pass on mkg in favor of lil penny. Kaman looks like a really solid foundation guy though. Paul Pierce hasn't been what he can potentially be. He needs some help.
13. Bulls- had a surprising pre-season . When looking at this team is only see two promising players moving forward. Howard and Harding. Howard needs to develop some scoring .
14. Heat - canes is an awful Gm. Older shitty veterans will no young talent. It's almost like he held onto his core way to long. To the point where they lost all value.
15. Raptors- Pete sold off almost everyone. Has a couple legit pg's though that may hurt the tank. He's possibly an 8 seed out west.
