This sounds interesting. Just based on very quick flight search I'd say Chicago, DC and Dallas are my top places.
If I met up with Majic and druce for a drive to Omaha that might work

I'd volunteer my family's place in the keys. Would require a bunch of people to be willing to sleep on the floor/air matresse, but the only cost would be $75 to get the place cleaned once we are done
