I've been saying something like that for years Was why I tagged you, I couldn't remember what you had said. Another thing this could fix, is ending starting quality bigs offering to resign for the vet min which allows teams ridiculous cap flexibility.

My argument was to limit the flow of bigs with blocks over a certain level to 1-2 per year so with player careers around 10-15 years...at most you have about 1 natural shot-blocker per team.
Make more bigs with B or better starting jump shots so you have more bigs like Dirk and Amare (I'm aware his outside isn't that good) who have close to league average scoring so there may be some valuable bigs that can shoot
I just think we need to consciously make players to try and combat the perceived detriments in the software. I'm sure it wasn't created with the intention that there would be 70-80 bigs in the league that could go get 2.5-4 blocks per game so we may be creating some of our own issues.
Here were the NBA leaders in B/48 last season:
Javale McGee 4.35 Kyle O'Quinn 4.06 Rudy Gobert 3.74 John Henson 3.33 Myles Turner 3.27 Salah Mejri 3.24 Hassan Whiteside 3.09 Alex Len 3.02 Anthony Davis 2.96 Kristaps Porzingis 2.86
TMBSL had 40 players higher than #1 Javale McGee, topping out with Ryan Humphrey at 5.59 blocks per 48. We had 85 players who would have been above Kristaps at #10, including 4 wings - Queen Latifah, LeBron James, Lonnie Walker, and Grant Long.
There were 23,156 blocks in TMBSL last season among the players who finished the season on a roster. By my count there were 11,250 blocks in the NBA last season.
The reason our software doesn't work for us the way we want is probably our own fault.

We could also completely ban shot blocking upgrades across the board

Or we set the upgrade cap for blocks much lower, like around 50.

Every sim engine has it's flaws and there are two schools of thought. You can either play the sim engine as the game itself, or try to manipulate it to give more realistic stats and teams. I wholeheartedly endorse the latter.

It's been talked about forever but was never done because there would be a 10-15 year turnover window.
