Preseason Update
Rookies 1. Mitch Richmond -Good volume and incredible efficiency. I think the guy who makes the players said that it looks like GBG got his Alan Houston again, which looks to be a very accurate comparison based on their defensive numbers. He's better as a rebounder than I expected (7.5 RPG). 2. Dan Majerle -Good volume, solid efficiency, great rebounding but little defense. His future definitely looks to be at PG with that assist-turnover ratio. 3. Brian Shaw -Was great during preseason, but his efficiency probably won't stay there during the season. Shaw has really sexy grades for the future with the B- inside and C+ rebounding. Tim has good asset if he wants to trade for a star to help his title chances right now. 4. Charles Smith -Word on the street is that Spl really likes Smith. Only attempted 2 threes during preseason so he may need to have points put into his three pointing shooting to be a potential high impact player long term. 5. Anthony Mason -Mason put up solid scoring numbers and good rebounding during the preseason. He may be a better defender than his .3 BPG shows since he played SG. Ank will probably sell low this offseason to keep the tank going. MVP The usual suspects that I've talked about a ton the last few seasons. 1. Rashard Lewis -3046's power rankings MVP. 2. Gilbert Arenas -Still the best scoring guard in the league. 3. Lebron James -Should repeat as DPOY and may repeat needing more team success to be considered a legit MVP threat. 4. Vince Carter -Putting up George Gervin type numbers now. 5. Chris Paul -Dominated the software's preseason awards. 6. Larry Bird -Volume down, efficiency back. 7. Damian Lillard -Like Bird, efficiency came back during preseason. 8. Reggie Theus -Defending MVP, preseason numbers were down since he played SG. 9. Tyronn Lue -Didn't really play in PS again, 10. Nate Robinson -See below. Break Out Players 1. Nate Robinson -Was incredible during preseason. He put up Prince type of numbers minus the excessive turnovers. The high assists may give him the chance to win the software's vote for MVP. 2. Kris Dunn -Scoring is catching up to the defense, where he is now the best defensive PG in the league. Odin , didn't Spl get this guy for just some shitty future firsts and dump bucks? 3. Dillion Brooks -Should put up big numbers as the third scorer for the Rockets. And holy shit at these grades B B+ A- B+ B- C. 4. Markelle Fultz -Will become one of the best shooting guards in the league once Pete puts down Sam Jones. 5. Nikoloz Tskitishvili -The grades and early numbers are looking Dario Saric-like which I'm sure Heebs is thrilled about. Won't be a star yet, but well on his way. 6. Phil Ford 2.0 - Y'all already know. 7. Frank Ntilikina -Will block shots, score 15 a game and have below average efficiency. Bold prediction: JHB will pimp his defense and he'll become overrated and overpaid in a few seasons. O/U is 57.5 posts this seasons about Frank's defense. 8. Tracy McGrady -This is his year, I can feel it in my balls. 9. OG Anunoby -Should put up big numbers as the number one option on a tanker. 10. Michael Olowokandi -Had his best numbers ever this preseason, he's expiring and Yawn now has his picks so somebody should really trade for him. Contenders in East 1. Pacers -New city, new name, same boring Heebs team that will win 55-60. They could win 60+ if Nikoloz Tskitishvili is legit and if Josh Hart plays well. I'm expecting Heebs to trade Ewing for future lotto picks by day 90. 2. Raptors -I believe in the Raptors and I believe in Pete. Gilbert is still great and I think his young players (McGrady, Fultz, Blount and Bridges) make a leap. If not Pete's got the ammo in prospects to make big moves. 3. Hornets -Perimeter trio are back again along with Pau, full year of Slava and I liked the move today for Foyle. I think they need some more depth on the wings/perimeter to be an overall title favorite. 4. Heat -Defending champs with defending MVP (fuck you, Reggie), Simmons is a stud and blocked 2.3 shots at PF during preseason so his defense might be coming around. This team needs a shooting guard to have a chance to repeat. 5. Hawks -Will probably be one of the best defensive teams in the league. JHB needs to acquire some star players to win in the playoffs though.
Contenders in West
1. Timberwolves -Best team in the league brought all of their key players back. His core four are all 31 or older and Lillard is expiring so this may need to be the year for Ayyoe. 2. Rockets -Brooks replaces the struggling Baylor and Paul looks to be playing at an MVP level again. They've got their top three scorers and D/R bigs set, depth may be their only weakness. 3. Lakers -Had the best record in the west during preseason even without Tatum/Billups getting may minutes. Zaza may be legit and could help them take the next step as a title favorite. 4. Sonics -New conference and I had a really high luck ratio in the four factors. Bosh went +2 on his scoring grades and had an incredible preseason playing in what looks like an inside offense so I'm eager to see if he becomes one of the top 5 bigs in the league. 5. Spurs -Last year's surprising western conference champ had everyone come back and Ball may be ready to become an MVP caliber player. Bruns left Tim a lot of talent, I think Tim makes a big trade later in the season to make himself a title favorite.

Day 30 Update *Dump and the Celtics lifetime ban is temporarily lifted just for this set of rankings.Rookies 1. Mitch Richmond -Incredible scoring, averaging about 29 PPG on over 50% shooting. Richmond could be a Jimmy Chitwood type of player if he gets his steals at 2 per game. His handles need work too. 2. Dan Majerle -Putting up good numbers on a better team than Richmond, his free throw percentage makes me think he won't be able to keep shooting around 50%. The lack of defense is a bit troubling. 3. Rex Chapman -Having a great year for a rookie PG outside of the low rebounding and TOs. His handles will improve during TCs, but the rebounding will need points to get him close to 5 a game. Chapman > Dick, more on that later. 4. Vernon Maxwell -I love him, right now he looks a bit like Dajuan Wagner, but with better rebounding. The steals and blocks are very high for a rookie guard. He could be the best player in this class if Ank puts points into his inside. 5. Anthony Mason -Scoring volume and rebounding are very good, FT% is good and 3P% is solid for the low attempts. I think it was Ian that predicted Mason could be a Ben Simmons type of player which looks to be a good prediction. *Big ups to Brian Shaw for that FG% Contenders 1.Rockets -I'm a big fan of this team, but have mixed feelings about the recent Jones trade. I get that Ward had to make a move to improve his defense and rebounding, I don't like though that it cuts down Rashard Lewis' shot attempts as Ian had pointed out today. Dillion Brooks has been legit AF. 2. Pacers -Lue is still great and Heebs now has 4 pretty good-good wings with Howard, Battier, Hart and Tskitishvili to collectively put up 60 points, 24 rebounds, 3.7 blocks and 2.9 steals. Team may take a step back behind the Heat after the impending Ewing trade for picks. 3. Heat -Theus has been even better than last year Simmons' all-around game has improved, Stoudemire looks good and De'Aron Fox has been solid at SG. I really like their chances to at least get back to the finals. 4. Sonics -I've been really pleased with how Bosh and Pierce have improved. *Fun fact-before the season I offered andrewluck Paul Pierce, Jae Crowder and a first for Danny Granger. Thankfully he didn't reply. 5. Jazz -The surprise of the quarter way mark of the season. Will be a scary team in the playoffs if Spl can find that star wing he is looking for. *I expect the TWolves and Raptors to surge up the standings and rankings by the second half of the season. Pleasant Surprises 1. Jazz -I think we all liked the Jazz' young talent, but nobody saw this coming. Dunn is now a legit star, David West's defense and rebounding have improved, Jaylen Brown looks like a Chet Walker clone and the trade for Olowokandi was a good move. Hopefully Spl doesn't slit his wrists when it's time to max Dunn and Brown. 2. Zaza Pachulla -Currently averaging 13.1 rebounds, 3.6 blocks and shooting 49%. And only 24, only 60 more days until he's a Bobcat. 3. Kyle Korver and the Cavs -Shaun with a big to MJ going out and putting together a playoff team. Maybe I shouldn't consider Korver a surprise with how the guy who made him has been pimping him in shout. With his scoring volume increase, I wouldn't be surprised if he had one of those Kevin Garnet 3023 TCs. 20s Navidad 4. Frank Ntilikina's offense -I certainly didn't see this coming with what I said about him before the year. His shooting may not stay this high, but he's only 23 and looks like a young Reggie Theus. 5. Ben Simmons' defense -Simmons is averaging 1.2 more bleals from last year and is now officially the 4th best SF in the league even though he isn't shooting as well as he normally does. 6. Bobcats tanking -I'm really impressed with Odin being able to win only one game with KVH, Butler, Jackson, Prince and Chapman. Odin's done an excellent job of having as little shot blocking as possible (team is averaging only 3.4 a game) 7. Ron Mercer -His numbers are catching up to his grades after being trashed for a couple seasons. He still needs points put into his inside, but he looks like a nice wing prospect. Nice move by Dirt to pick him up in the Slava trade. Disappointments 1. TWolves -This is getting routine, their core four's numbers all look solid/good but they need another big that can improve their defense. 2. Grizzlies -I find this really disappointing even though I'm in the same division. Alston's playing really well, Wade looks okayish, Danny Granger and Chris Kaman need to get up more shots. This team really misses Zo's rebounding and defense. 3. Lonzo Ball - at his scoring volume and field goal percentage. I think most of us were expecting Ball to become an MVP candidate after carrying his team to finals last season. I'm sure his numbers will improve, but he has a long way to go to match his numbers from last year. 4. Slava Medvedenko -His blocks and rebounds have declined a bit, but his FG% is down nearly 60 points. Hopefully his shooting last season wasn't a fluke. 5. OG Anunoby -Outside of his steals and blocks, he's been good awful so far. Not surprised Taco went after him after looking at that 6 year/48 million dollar deal. Billy, you really fucked up not taking those Warriors picks. 6. Josh Jackson -His numbers are starting to improve after a really bad start. His TO issues look to be close to under control. 7. Detlef Schrempf and Sam Jones have hit the wall -Two overpaid role players now, Schrempf's decline is really troubling since his elite offense would make up for his lack of defense. PGs better than Dick McGuire
Today in shout there was a discussion about Dick McGuire's value so I decided to look at all the PGs. Even with giving Dick the benefit of the doubt that his numbers will rebound, he's still very low in value compared to the other PGs in the league. *Players are listed in alphabetical order eric Butch Lee Chauncey Billups Chris Paul Damian Lillard Delaney Rudd Frank Ntilikina Gerald Henderson Gilbert Arenas Jason C Williams Jason D Williams Jesse Epstein Kris Dunn Kyle Austin Lonzo Ball Luke Ridnour Mike Bibby Nate Robinson Prince Rafer Alston Reggie Theus Tony Wroten Tyronn Lue PGs that may not be better, but definitely have more trade value Brian Shaw Dajuan Wagner De'Aron Fox Dennis Smith Malik Monk Markelle Fultz Monta Ellis Phil Ford 2.0 Rex Chapman Troy Bell Vernon Maxwell Upcoming Articles 1. Truth Bombs 2017 -Easy #1, the only thing that could come close to the anticipation for this would be a volume 2 of Ankface's 10 softest GMs in the game. 2. Part 2 of Pete's most recent 10 for 10 -I've seen some of the topics Pete plans to cover, really excited to see what he does with the RV cyberbullying incident. 3. Dump's Top 50 Babes -Another work from Dump that he talked about last week. O/U is 4.5 girls above a C cup. 4. Canes' champions interview -A lot of people here give him shit and I'm looking forward to giving him the opportunity to answer his critiques. 5. Stoner RT -Soon....

Maybe one of you fuckers finally just listened and gave him more than 1-2 sims before deciding he was garbage. I wasn't trying to make it painfully obvious he was deserving of playing time for no reason. It would be interesting to see how his grades did change from last offseason to this one though (I know he lost his A+ outside) as he is playing better than even I expected (and I doubt he stays over .500 from the field). In all seriousness, I would hope you all know and trust that I would never interfere with the league or do anything nefarious like manipulating a player (outside of the upgrades you all pay for). The integrity of the league is reliant upon the natural growth/RNG aspects of the software. One thing I take very seriously with this role is to be completely upstanding and behave in the manner in which I would want the commish to act as a GM.
