Also, in case it helps other civilians, I am hereby making my vote for Odin irrevocable even though it could save my skin to switch to TimPig. I acknowledge 20s logic, which I think is solid, for the TimPig vote. But I think where we have a logical reason to affirmatively believe a player is mafia, we shouldn't use the "least helpful" model to determine who is executed. i agree with Heebs second point this feels alot like the execution of BK: no real game benefits but just a shot at someone perceived to be annoying/not active enough and before anyone questions this, i said the same thing about just randomly going after BK last game and i was right (even if we won) I would rather take a shot at potential bigger target than get rid of random players Just to make sure 20s logic is not lost or overlooked, his point is that the town only gains information if people talk and share their ideas/thoughts. He is not voting for TimPig because he is annoying or because he doesn't like him. He is voting for him because, all things being equal (e.g., there is no credible/rational argument for another player), we should eliminate the player who would contribute the least to the town and has the same probability of being mafia as everyone else.

I would argue that going after someone who we don't expect to participate that much in the thread is the smarter move. Active pariticpants will at least have a record in this thread and evidence for future vote deliberations I am totally OK with this. It's a very rational approach. The downside in this instance is that I may be killed if the vote is split. But I can live with that because it provides good information to the town. And it's only a matter of time until I admin kill myself anyways. I also think the list of people that vote for TimPig is going to provide a good starting list of "probable civilians" as a mafia member is almost certainly not going to follow 20s logic (because it is good logic and it would hurt the mafia to kill TimPig instead of me).

Do you mean most active and/or effective players? Because if that's what you mean, I think executing a "bigger" target could be a bigger blow to the civilians than to the mafia. The player can still contribute to the mafia chat, but they would then be completely unable to assist the civilians.

For the record and to help people that may in the future re-read my last post, here is the vote as of my post. I'd put money on 20s, eric, and soup being civilians. I'm MUCH less confident that Odin is mafia (although I think it is most likely). Fecta and SPL should be suspects at this point, SPL in particular because he made ad hominem attacks ("jedi mind tricks") against my rational for Odin instead of presenting a case for me.
3 Herb Simon - Odin, Fecta, SPL 3 TimPig - 20s, Eric, Soup 2 Odin - herb simoin, Majic 1 JHB - Delap 1 Pete - Canes 1 Fecta - JHB 1 Billy King - gbg 1 20s - Taco
Yet to vote: Pete, Yawn, TimPig, Billy King

Majic's posts make no sense
Move him down to tier 3 as he will not be an asset to the town

I don't think spl makes bad arguments because he's mafia, I think he just makes bad arguments. <3

IMO their only goal early is to keep the mafia alive and let us pick off our own to make their job easier. no need to put a target on your back this early when most people are guessing.

No, I'll only switch from my take out a noob at random strategy if I see compelling evidence at this point. How strong herb is pushing someone as mafia this early just made me suspicious as I don't think anyone knows anything yet. its more of a word doc it and file the info away for later thing for me right now. I don't have enough to vote to take a veteran player ( ) like odin out yet.

I'm down to take out a potentially inactive player like tim pig. seems much more low risk than a blind shot at an active player who is analytical.
