Just a note on this class overall. Either Eric's spreadsheet leads to some juiced players....or 20's just decided to give a collective fr*ck you to all of the people complaining about the draft class. This class looks much better after this TC.
Round 1
1. Cavaliers
Bryant Crawford PG 6'3 185 20 B- B B- B- C+ A
Bryant Crawford PG 20 6'3'' 185 B B+ B B+ C+ A
+1 inside, +1 outside, +1 handling, +2 defense, +5 overall
Great pick by the Cavs. Crawford was the clear number one in this draft and he has rewarded Shaun for making the right pick. Crawford should be a one man wrecking crew for the Cavs, he looks to be able to do everything you could possibly want from a point guard.
2. Hornets
Jalen Brunson PG 6'2 200 22 B- B C+ C+ D+ A
Jalen Brunson PG 22 6'2'' 200 B- B B B- D+ B
+2 handling, +1 defense, +3 overall, +1 potential
This is a solid piece to start the rebuild for the Hornets. Brunson has a little bit of everything except for the rebounding and should be the foundation for Fecta to keep building on. Hopefully we will see some work on his scoring and he should be a very good prospect.
3. Magic
Tres Tinkle 22 F 6'8" 220 B B- C B- B- B
Tres Tinkle PF 22 6'8'' 220 B+ B C B- B- B
+1 inside, +1 outside, +2 overall
GM MehJ makes another meh pick for the Mehgic. Tinkle only goes +2 while the rest of the top 5 goes +19 overall.
But really, he could probably be a decent SF.
4. Pelicans
Jaren Jackson Jr. 21 C 6'10" 230 B B- C- B- C+ A
Jaren Jackson Jr. C 21 6'10'' 230 B+ B C B- B- A
+1 inside, +1 outside, +1 handles, +1 rebounds, +4 overall
Triple J had a great TC and with some work on his block and rebounding could be an extremely valuable big. He has the scoring grades to make some 3's and be a little more efficient than most of our bigs in this league. While he does look very promising for Billy King and the Pels, he will likely always be remembered for not being Glynn Watson, who was picked at 5.
5. Clippers
Glynn Watson 22 PG 6'0" 175 C B B- B- D+ B
Glynn Watson PG 22 6'0'' 175 C+ B+ B+ A- D+ A
+1 inside, +1 outside, +2 handling, +3 defense, +7 overall, +1 potential
"I did not have sex with that woman." - Bill Clinton
"Mission Accomplished." - George W. Bush
"If you like your healthcare plan, you can keep it." - Barack Obama
"Cigarette smoking is no more 'addictive' than coffee, tea, or Twinkies." - James Johnston, CEO of RJ Reynolds
"I wasn't trying to go full Lue with him" - GM 20s
6. Cavaliers
Danjel Purifoy SF 6'7 225 22 C+ B C+ B C B
Danjel Purifoy SF 6'7 225 22 C+ B C+ B C B
No change
After eating his twin prospect in utero, it seems that the only trait it helped strengthen was his mediocrity. Nailed it.
7. Clippers
Tai Wynward 19 C 6'10" 263 B C- C- B- B- B
Tai Wynward C 19 6'10'' 263 B+ C- D+ B B B
+1 inside, -1 handles, +1 defense, +1 rebounding, +2 overall
Very good TC for this big, going +3 in the important categories. Just color me skeptical about a big with this makeup making it in today's TMBSL.
8. Kings
Antonio Blakeney 21 SG 6'4" 175 B B- C- C+ C- B
Antonio Blakeney SG 21 6'4" 175 B+ B C- C+ C- B
+1 inside, +1 outside, +2 overall
This is a promising young wing scorer for GM 2poor but you have to wonder if he fits next to Wroten, who is already a volume scorer and poor defender.
9. Grizzlies
Tacko Fall C 7'6" 300 20 B+ D+ D B- B- A
Tacko Fall C 20 7'6'' 300 B+ C- D B+ B+ A
+1 outside, +2 defense, +2 rebounding, +5 overall
Very, very nice. Great starting grades, great TC, great offensive performance in preseason. If Drew invests in his shot-blocking, this is a game-changing piece to have as a big.
10. Cavaliers
Maverick Rowan SG 6'7" 210 23 C+ A- C- C+ D+ B
Maverick Rowan SG 23 6'7'' 210 C+ A D+ C+ D+ C
+1 outside, -1 handling, -1 potential
Not great. At least he has one skill that you know will be elite. Could he be Korver 2.0? MAXerick.
11. Bucks
Drake Wilton PG 6'5" 195 19 C+ B C+ C+ C A
Drake Wilton PG 19 6'5'' 195 B- A- C+ B- C A
+1 inside, +2 outside, +1 defense, +4 overall
Fine pick by GM Duc who is eschewing traditional scorched earth tanking and has been rewarded for it with this pick. Wilton is a great start to building a new wing trio and should be a fine lead guard who looks to have a similar mold to Collin Sexton.
Unfortunately, we didn't get to see as much of him as I'd like since Morlon Wiley (man, I feel dumb) destroyed worlds as the Bucks' starting PG in preseason.
12. Nets
Coop Cooper SG 6'0" 180 23 C+ A F C+ C- B
Coop Cooper SF 23 6'0'' 180 B- A+ F B- C- B
+1 inside, +1 outside, +1 defense, +3 overall
A surprisingly great TC for one of the BASEketball duo. I anticipated these guys would be a bust. At worst it looks like Coop should provide some scoring punch for a deep Pacers squad.
13. Bulls
Zack Friedman PG 6'2'' 187 20 C+ B A- B- D A
Never take a software guy. Yes he only played 29 minutes in one game, but Friedman averaged 10 turnovers per 36 in the preaseason.
14. Nets
Doug Remer SG 6'0" 180 23 C+ A F C+ C- B
Doug Remer SF 23 6'0'' 180 C+ A F C+ C- B
No change
Not as good as Coop. While we're on the subject of Baseketball,I'd like to say that I've never seen it and never plan to. It sounds dumb. I'm planning to pick it up at the RedBox this weekend and check it out.
15. Hornets
Deng Adel SF 6'8" 200 22 C+ B C C+ C+ A
Deng Adel SF 22 6'8'' 200 C+ B C B B- A
+2 defense, +1 rebounding, +3 overall
I was hoping Deng could be a Deng good D/R wing for the Hornets, but he had less than 2 bleals per 36 in preseason playing for the Magic. However, he was uber-efficient so maybe there's still some upside here?
16. Raptors
Mike Watkins PF 6'9" 245 21 C C- C- B B B
Mike Watkins C 21 6'9'' 245 C C- C- B B+ C
+1 rebounding, +1 overall, -1 potential
Watkins was one of 2 D/R type bigs I was targeting to trade into the draft for. Let's just say I'm happy with my decision after this TC. He still has the grades to make it work, but not as promising as it was before TC.
17. Timberwolves
Markis McDuffie SG 6'8"185 20 C+ B C+ B- C B
Markis McDuffie SG 20 6'8'' 185 B- A- C+ B C A
+1 inside, +2 outside, +1 defense, +4 overall, +1 potential
A very exciting rookie TC for the young Timberwolf. I was hoping this could be a piece Ayyoe could use to move on from his Bird/Lillard/Long core but he needs to do some work to increase his scoring volume as it was aggressively low in preseason.
18. Supersonics
Shizz Alston Jr. SG 6'4" 165 21 B- B- C- C+ C- B
Shizz Alston Jr. SG 21 6'4'' 165 B B C- C+ C B
+1 inside, +1 outside, +1 rebounding, +3 overall
This pick was the Shizz. LMAO we have fun here, don't we guys.
19. Cavaliers
Ray Spaulding PF 6'9" 195 20 B D+ D+ B- C+ A
Ray Spaulding PF 20 6'9'' 195 B+ D+ D+ B B- A
+1 inside, +1 defense, +1 rebounding, +3 overall
This is an interesting looking big prospect for Shaun. Very good TC, but some questionable distribution of his gradeset and his incredibly low weight is concerning. Didn't get enough time in the preseason to draw any conclusions yet.
20. Braves
Earvin Lue SF 6'8'' 244 22 B B C B- C- A
Earvin Lue SF 22 6'8'' 244 B A- C C+ C B
+2 outside, -1 defense, +1 rebounding, +2 overall, -1 potential
Why do guys still draft software players?
21. Hawks
Donta Hall PF 6'9" 224 22 C+ D+ D B- B- A
Donta Hall C 22 6'9'' 224 C+ C- D B+ B+ B
+1 outside, +2 defense, +2 rebounding, +5 overall, -1 potential
Hopefully he blocks shots.
22. Raptors
Donte DiVincenzo SG 6'5" 205 22 B- C+ C+ B- C B
Donte DiVincenzo SG 22 6'5'' 205 B B C B- C B
+1 inside, +2 outside, -1 handling, +2 overall
The pride of Handsome Pete High School has a solid TC. Exciting B B scoring grades to build on and solid size for a SG.
23. Cavaliers
Moritz Wagner C 6'11" 240 21 B B D+ C+ C+ B
Moritz Wagner C 21 6'11'' 240 B B D+ B- C+ A
+1 defense, +1 overall, +1 potential
All shoot, no defense big? No thanks.
24. Heat
Dedric Lawson PF 6'8" 235 20 B- C+ D+ B- B- B
Dedric Lawson PF 20 6'8'' 235 B- B- D+ B B A
+1 outside, +1 defense, +1 rebounding, +3 overall, +1 potential
I think this guy may be the steal of the draft. He's got a very good grade set to build on and could potentially get a bump with a move to SF. Interested to see how he performs in the summer league.
25. Spurs
Tyler Dorsey SG 6'4" 180 21 B C+ C C+ C- B
Tyler Dorsey SG 21 6'4'' 180 B B C C+ C- B
+2 outside, +2 overall
Not a bad depth piece at this stage of the draft and some good scoring grades to work with.
26. Pacers
Drew Eubanks C 6'10" 240 20 B C- D B- C+ A
Drew Eubanks C 20 6'10'' 240 B+ C D B B- B
+1 inside, +1 outside, +1 defense, +1 rebounding, +4 overall, -1 potential
Drew Eubanks is just another in Herb's embarrassment of riches. Looks to have the build to potentially be a two-way big if that's even a thing still.
27. Hornets
Jonathan Nwankwo C 6'10" 240 20 B- C- D+ B- B- B
Jonathan Nwankwo C 20 6'10'' 240 B- C- C- B B A
+1 handling, +1 defense, +1 rebounding, +3 overall, +1 potential
Fecta will have to aggressively upgrade the shot-blocking but Nwankwo looks very good for a prospect taken this late.
28. Jazz
Blake Henson C 7'0'' 319 20 B C D+ B B- B
Blake Henson C 20 7'0'' 319 B+ C D A- B B
+1 inside, -1 handling, +2 defense, +1 rebounding, +3 overall
Who is this guy and how did he get these grades? What the hell. And he shot .517 in preseason?
SPL playing chess while we all play with ourselves.
29. Clippers
Esa Ahmed PF 6'8" 230 21 C+ C+ C C+ C+ B
Esa Ahmed PF 21 6'8'' 230 C+ C+ C C+ C B
-1 rebounding, -1 overall
This is what happens when you draft a guy named Esa from West Virginia.

All shoot, no defense big? No thanks.

Tyler Dorsey SG 6'4" 180 21 B C+ C C+ C- B
Tyler Dorsey SG 21 6'4'' 180 B B C C+ C- B

Who is this guy and how did he get these grades? What the hell. And he shot .517 in preseason?
SPL playing chess while we all play with ourselves.

This is what happens when you draft a guy named Esa from West Virginia.
