So in the future, I think secret roles either need to be described beforehand or revealed on a cop's investigation

that game had so many twists and turns. we were a changed decision away from pete being barmanned on night one and JHB being safe for at least another day

I equate that to Nick Young jacking up some ill advised shot with the game on the line instead of going to the bench for a timeout and regrouping and working together to set up a play. Luckily, the shot went in.

gotta tip my hat to 20s on this one, when he's right he's right: Everyone should definitely go with gumshoe Herb who has hit another one out of the park.

So in the future, I think secret roles either need to be described beforehand or revealed on a cop's investigation yea, I agree. I think I went a bit too far with the masked vigilante part. I liked the thought of both the don and the vigilante being revealed as a vanilla civ but it didn't play out as expected.

Not trying to pile on canes but I really did not like the aspect of not knowing what parameters I was even playing the game under. Made certain things feel pointless instead of strategic.

Luckily, the shot went in. this is exactly what happened imo. It was win or go home either this night phase or next day phase. Heebs did what heebs does and took the shot himself. It dropped. But hey, he was right so he gets to parade that around.

I completely understand. It definitely wasn't a perfect set up. It also was pretty awful luck in terms of having a good game that by the beginning of day 2 both the silencer and barman were found leaving just the don who had pretty much zero voting history. I felt bad but at that point there was nothing I could do.

I mean you made a guess and you were right but it was more likely SPL would turn on Tim than you so that was pretty dumb

There were 3 people left. The outcomes were we killed SPL, Tim, or me. By taking the shot, I took me (a townie) out of the picture and prevented Tim from framing me and SPL buying it.

Since heebs was town, I think he was right to take the shot. You couldn't trust what either said in that last round and I don't think talking it out would've revealed much more. THere's always a chance that TimPig overplays his hand pushing for SPL or Heebs, but there's just as good a chance that SPL or heebs latches on to something the other said and leads the charge in the wrong direction.

I mean you made a guess and you were right but it was more likely SPL would turn on Tim than you so that was pretty dumb Right, so if SPL votes for Tim, Tim has to vote for SPL. So I've got the same choice I just had. There was a daytime outcome where I died. There was never a chance I was taking that risk.

SPL did seem to be trusting of Heebs, so I think we would've gotten it in the final vote

You're right about this - it's basically the Monty Hall probability problem but with even more info provided. But you still acted completely on your own accord and without assistance from Pete which was risky.

SPL did seem to be trusting of Heebs, so I think we would've gotten it in the final vote I feel I really did want to let you live to the last day. I felt SPL and Heebs were more trusting of each other than me. You're always difficult to read, but you seemed to favor me over Fecta and SPL.

When Canes asked for my night move, I told him I needed to review the thread for what Pete had said. Saying I didn't try to take Pete's input into account is ignorant.
