i think the reason it was cancelled initially was more because people who had been killed were liking posts in the thread, which in some cases could be abused for them to provide their opinion after they've been killed

The reason stated for not allowing it before was that people can like a post, then click to remove their like from the post.  Ank didn't want people to be able to change their history in the mafia threads.
