I wrote most of this article on Friday before TC and pre-season and planned to post it this weekend but left my laptop at work and never had a chance. Since this is pre-TC and preseason, there are some obvious exclusions that should be noted after breakout preseason performances...looking at you Jalen Brunson.
Anyways, enjoy.
1. Collin Sexton
PG, Phoenix Suns
21 6'3'' 193
B A- C B+ C A
6936.2 37.1 5.7 6.6 1.9 1.3 1.9 47.4% 85.9% 41.1%
10.7 WS, .206 WS/48, 1.09 pts/tsa
Sexton's virtuoso scoring, age, potential for further growth, and positional value make him an easy number one.
2. Ben Simmons
SF, Miami Heat
25 6'11'' 245
A- B+ B A- A- C
82 37.9 27.6 10.8 4.3 1.6 2.2 1.3 46.8% 90.8% 35.9%
13.2 WS, .204 WS/48, 1.08 pts/tsa
While Simmons is more accomplished than #1 on this list, having already won a title, we should see shortly if he can carry a franchise by himself as Reggie Theus is winding down. Fortunately for Canes, he has the #2 player under 25 as well as some more help coming up soon on this list.
3. Tracy McGrady
SF, Toronto Raptors
24 6'9'' 235
A A- B- A B+ A
78 37.5 26.1 8.9 4.1 1.4 0.9 1.3 47.0% 85.6% 39.7%
11.3 WS, .185 WS/48, 1.09 pts/tsa
If we still valued grades like we used to in TMBSL 2.0, then T-Mac would walk away with #1 and not look back. This is a ridiculous gradeset. His production is starting to catch up with those grades as well, so watch out TMBSL.
4. Jason D. Williams
PG, Portland Trail Blazers
25 6'2'' 205
B+ A AB+ C- B
82 37.2 31.5 5 11.5 1.4 0.3 1.9 48.4% 88.0% 39.7%
14.9 WS, .234 WS/48, 1.12 pts/tsa
By far the best player on this list in terms of Win Shares and WS/48, Williams has proved wrong all the doubters that let him slide to 1.7 after a questionable draft profile.
5. Chris Morris
SF, Atlanta Hawks
25 6'8'' 220
B+ A- C+ B+ C+ B
82 37.9 31.2 8.2 3.3 2 0.2 1.1 45.4% 87.3% 35.4%
11.7 WS, .181 WS/48, 1.05 pts/tsa
Efficiency needs work after dropping from 1.11 pts/tsa the year before, but Morris is another player on this list that has carried his team to a Finals victory.
6. Luka Doncic
SG, Golden State Warriors
21 6'9'' 195
B- A- B A- C+ B
76 38.8 26.2 7.1 4.9 2.4 0.8 2.4 45.0% 93.6% 37.4%
7.9 WS, .129 WS/48, 1.06 pts/tsa
Doncic has a chance to be much better than a lot of names on this list ahead of him, he just hasn't put it all together on the court yet. Look for him to put up big numbers in 3050.
7. Amar'e Stoudemire
C, Miami Heat
24 6'10'' 265
B+C C- A- A- B
82 35.4 20.8 11.2 1.1 0.9 3.2 0.8 44.9% 92.5% 0.0%
10.3 WS, .170 WS/48, 1.04 pts/tsa
A big that can put up 1.04 pts/tsa while still getting 3.2 blocks a game and not turning it over is a big deal. Needs to work on his rebounding. Along with Simmons, Stoudemire should form the core of some good young Heat teams for years to come if Canes can replace Theus.
8. Rex Chapman
PG, Denver Nuggets
24 6'4'' 185
B A- B A- C A
82 36.4 25 4.5 9.6 2 0.5 2.2 45.0% 88.6% 36.9%
10.5 WS, .169 WS/48, 1.06 pts/tsa
I was wrong when I argued Caron was as good or better than Rex. I own that.
9. Nikoloz Tskitishvili
SF, Indiana Pacers
23 7'1'' 240
B A- D+ A- B+ A
82 38.5 20 10.4 2.2 1.6 2.1 1.1 44.5% 89.3% 44.8%
10.9 WS, .166 WS/48, 1.05 pts/tsa
10. Coop Cooper
SG, Indiana Pacers
24 6'0'' 180
B- A+ F B- C- B
76 34.3 22.8 4.7 1.1 1.2 0.2 0.6 46.2% 93.2% 39.9%
8.0 WS, .147 WS/48, 1.09 pts/tsa
The Pacers' pair of wings come in at nine and ten on our list. While Niko's scoring is improving, everything else he does is elite for a wing. Coop gives you all the scoring you want with a little less of the everything else. Both still have some room to improve, but this is a dynamic and complimentary set of wings for Heebs to build around.
11. Phil Ford 2.0
PG, Fort Wayne Pistons
25 6'2'' 185
B A- B- B C- C
82 34 23.1 3.6 8.6 1.40.2 3 47.0% 92.0% 41.9%
7.5 WS, .129 WS/48, 1.10 pts/tsa
"Phil Ford 2.0 sucks." - GBG
"No." - TMBSL
We were right.
12. Glynn Watson
PG, San Diego Clippers
23 6'0'' 175
C+ B+ B+ A- D+ A
82 36.8 23.5 4 8.8 1.7 0.4 2.6 44.0% 90.9% 35.8%
6.1 WS, .097 WS/48, 1.03 pts/tsa
Hopefully Yawn will put some points into working on Watson's scoring efficiency. If the turnovers come along as well through natural development, he may have a chance to surpass another Nebraska legend, Tyronn Lue.
13. Drake Wilton
PG, Milwaukee Bucks
20 6'6'' 195
B- A- C+ B- C A
82 34.1 23.4 5.5 6 1.3 0.2 3 45.7% 81.5% 38.1%
4.6 WS, .079 WS/48, 1.05 pts/tsa
Congrats to Duc for this shrewd pick that allowed him to turn the Bucks around without completely bottoming out. Wilton should be the face of the Bucks until the end of 4.0
14. Thon Maker
C, Milwaukee Bucks
25 7'2'' 221
B- C+ C B+ A- C
82 32.7 9.2 11.4 1.9 0.8 3.3 0.9 35.8% 88.3% 25.0%
5.9 WS, .106 WS/48, .90 pts/tsa
This throw-in to the Monta Ellis deal has become one of my favorite young D/R bigs in Sim League. I love bigs who don't turn it over.
15. Trevon Duval
PG, Denver Nuggets
21 6'4'' 196
B B- A- A- C- B
82 15.5 8.4 1.6 3.4 0.5 0.2 0.8 46.5% 88.0% 39.7%

The second Nuggets PG to appear on this list. #FreeTrevon
16. Zach Collins
PF, Milwaukee Bucks
23 6'10'' 220
B B- C B+ A- B
82 35.6 18.9 10.9 2.6 0.6 3.5 2.1 43.0% 85.9% 38.0%
5.3 WS, .087 WS/48, .98 pts/tsa
Collins had a breakout season last year as a 4 for the Bucks. I like his D/R potential, but I think he plays better slotting down to the 3 and working on his scoring due to his high volume and turnovers.
17. Salado Valarado III
C,Dallas Mavericks
25 7'1'' 270
B+ C C A- B+ C
82 36.4 20.8 12.1 1.6 0.9 2.8 1.2 45.6% 82.3% 0.0%
8.1 WS, .130 WS/48, 1.02 pts/tsa
What can be said about Salado that hasn't already been said about Isaiah Canaan
18. Tacko Fall
C, Vancouver Grizzlies
21 7'6'' 305
B+ C- D B+B+ A
82 35 22.6 11.3 1 0.9 2.2 1.9 46.5% 69.0% 0.0%
5.7 WS, .095 WS/48, .99 pts/tsa
Last year was a big year for the rookie, showing that maybe the 2-way big isn't dead in this league. Hopefully he can develop a similar skill set to another young big on this list, Amare Stoudemire.
19. Marcus McDuffie
SG, Minnesota Timberwolves
21 6'8'' 185
B- A- C+ B C A
82 22.5 10 3.8 1.4 1 0.2 1 46.5% 87.8% 40.9%
2.6 WS, .068 WS/48, 1.10 pts/tsa
While unheralded compared to others on this list, McDuffie makes the top 25 for his efficiency relative to the rest of the contending field. Hopefully he can be the player to turn the page from the Long/Lillard/Bird era in Minnesota.
20. Brandon Ingram
SF, Milwaukee Bucks
25 6'10'' 205
B A- C+ A- B B
82 34.7 18.48.5 3.4 1.5 0.8 1.8 45.4% 87.7% 37.4%
7.5 WS, .127 WS/48, 1.07 pts/tsa
Surprise! A player that was largely written off as a bust had a big bounceback year for Duc and could still be a solid contributor if not asked to be a main option. His scoring is average, but he does rebound well and his defense is playable. Not an awful piece for a team seeking a SF.
21. Tim Thomas
SF, Denver Nuggets
25 6'10'' 235

82 24.3 13.8 6.2 1.8 0.9 0.7 1.4 44.3% 89.0% 41.5%

Tim Thomas available for two lottery picks.
22. Michael Porter
SF, San Diego Clippers

B- B+ C+ B- C+ B
82 35.1 23.9 6.1 3.3 1.1 0.32.5 44.9% 86.3% 38.2%
3.5 WS, .058 WS/48, 1.04 pts/tsa
I want to believe this kid can be good so that yawn has two pieces to build around in him and Watson. Rebounding and defense is questionable but looks to have the tools to be a scorer.
23. Anthony Mason
SF, New Orleans Pelicans
24 6’7” 250
B+ C+ C- B+ A- B
81 34.4 25.7 8.4 1.9 0.8 0.6 2.3 47.7% 77.4% 40.1%
2.7 WS, .047 WS/48, 1.05 pts/tsa
Mason is a one-trick pony whose trick still needs to be developed a little further. Could still be an elite scorer.
24. Mo Bamba
C, Phoenix Suns
22 7'2'' 220
C+ C D+ A- B+ B
82 32.2 10.4 10.2 1.9 1.3 2.4 1.2 40.6% 84.3% 0.0%
5.3 WS, .096 WS/48, .94 pts/tsa
Bamba still has a place here despite underwhelming volume/blocks/boards due to his upside. I think you'll see him become a fine, if not elite, D/R big.
25. Bryant Crawford
PG, Cleveland Cavaliers
21 6'3'' 185
B B+ B B+ C+ A
78 33.6 20.2 6.4 6.1 1.4 0.3 3.6 46.6% 88.8% 36.2%
2.7 WS, .049 WS/48, 1.07 pts/tsa
Last year's number one pick slides into our final spot in front of his draft class mate Jalen Brunson. While he does some things really well and has a lot of upside, he has some flaws (turnover rate/defense).
