I get it. Pete didn't need Arenas and needed bigs. I don't like those contracts, but it's better to have money tied up in two starting bigs than one back up guard.
Tim had a wealth of bigs and turned it into a promising big on a great contract and an elite guard to pair with Ball.
Great trade all around.
