There are many things that could've happened and that is one.

There are neutral killers in this game possibly. Multiple night immues. The mafia could've hit a night immune. The neutral evil could've attacked odin.

The mafia could've attacked any number of night immues, whether a town night immune or a neutral immune. The bus driver could've swapped the mafia's target with a night immune. In addition, any neutral killer or vigilante could've just shot odin tonight. A combination of these things would give us the result we have tonight. Veteran/Granny killing Odin is just one of the possible ways to get the result we got.
