Cut Players claim system: We will no longer be operating under a strict first come, first serve system for cut players. A player will be on waivers for 24 hours after being cut. During the waiver period, teams may "claim" a player. By claiming a player, you will be taking on the current contract the player was owed before being cut. If claimed through waivers, the team who cut the player will be relieved of all salary owed to the player and the amount will transfer to the team who claimed the player. If more than one team places a claim on a player, the team with the worst winning % when the 24 hour waiver period ends will be given the player. Once the player has cleared waivers (been cut for 24 hours with no claims), they will become a FA. They are now first come, first serve on a 1 year minimum contract. The team who cut the player will be responsible for all of the previous contract. A team does not need soft cap space to take on a player's contract in a waiver claim. The team just needs to be able to handle the contract under the hard cap.
Note: Drummond will not be eligible for the postseason on his new team this year as his claim will occur after the trade deadline.
Claim Deadline: 7:50 PM on Monday 10/9/17 Contract: $10,500,000 $11,025,000 $11,576,250 $12,155,063 $12,762,816

Not that I care particularly, but maybe we should have some kind of hard and fast rule of when a guy can be posted // claimed. If Drummond waiver had been posted when he was bought out he would've been eligible for the postseason. Waiting until this thread goes up for the deadline seems arbitrary, maybe the deadline for eligibility should be when the player is cut/bought out, and not when the thread gets posted.

No, I'll post them when I get to them. Is this really something worth bitching about? He was traded and bought out after Day 99 sim. He was never going to be postseason eligible.

Does the "not that I care particularly" not imply I'm not bitching? It's just a loophole that should be closed because it's based on judgement calls and when the commish gets to it, instead of a set deadline, which is always the worse way to work a system. Again, I don't care, I just like setting up ironclad rules that don't have loopholes and judgement calls. Just because I suggest a change doesn't mean I'm bitching.

*sigh*
So any suggestion is automatically bitching? Ok.

It's all about tone. Compare what you wrote to this:
"This is an interesting situation because Drummond was bought out after day 99 but before the deadline. I don't know the rules on when waivers are posted and processed as a general matter (or even if there are firm processes), but would it be possible to run a waiver like this before day 100? I don't want to make more work for the commish and a thread with claims could easily be run by the GMs (similar to how someone always posts the post-TC signing and weight/height thread)."

I thought my tone was good, but this seems better. I'm not good at conveying what I'm trying to say but I was trying to sound good. It's whatever. I think my point is still a good one though, it may not matter in this case but there could be times in the future where someone could get fucked out of a waiver claim because it gets posted too late. I don't think there is anything wrong with asking for a well clarified process. I apologize if I came across as bitchy then, and I'll just pre apologize for whatever I said wrong here as well.
