1. Celtics - Clyde Drexler B C+ C B- B- A
1. Celtics - Clyde Drexler B B C B- B- A (+2)
Clyde seemed to be the clear cut [HASH]1 pick in coming into the draft. With solid starting grades he really didn't make much of a jump. His development looks to be on the same track as 2.0 slow and steady.
2. Knicks - Ralph Sampson B+ C- D B+ B+ B
2. Knicks - Ralph Sampson B+ C- D B+ B+ B (nc)
SPL took the clear [HASH]2 prospect in the draft. The only real red flag Ralph had coming into the draft is his potential. Looks like fears we justified and he is what he is.
3. Nuggets - Doc Rivers C+ B- B- B C- A
3. Nuggets - Doc Rivers C+ B B B C- B (+2, -1 Pot)
Odin was talking about wanting more bust at the top of the draft and looks like we found one in Doc. Very disappointing TC for the Nuggets front office as Doc had minimal improvement and the potential dropped.
4. Hawks - Dale Ellis B B C- C+ C- B
4. Hawks - Dale Ellis B B D+ C+ C- A (-1 handles, +1 pot)
Outside of the big two most felt Ellis was the safest pick on the board. Odin's love for him in the past and great scoring grades. Ellis had a drop of handles and no changes to grades outside of that. RW probably wanted a boost in defense but he will be glad to get the Potential boost.
5. Blazers - Steve Stipanovich B C- D+ B- B A
5. Blazers - Steve Stipanovich B C- C- B B A (+2)
Stip looks like a decent pick. Got a boost in handles so he might be a turnover machine as once thought. Also a slight bump in defense give the Blazers some hope. Retained his A potential so this can be considered a big win considering how shitty this draft turned out to be.
6. Hornets -Oscar Schmidt B- B C- B- C B
6. Hornets - Oscar Schmidt B- B+ C- B C B (+2)
The Hornets got a solid TC out of Schmidt continuing a fantastic off season for Rv12. A boost to outside scoring and defense should make Oscar a legit option for playing time on that nice young roster.
7. Knicks - Derek Harper B- C+ B- B+ D+ B
7. Knicks - Derek Harper B- B- B+ B+ D B (+3)
SPL had some better luck with Harper. +3 to boost his outside shot and handles to go along with his already solid defense gives hope that Harper could be a mid lotto steal.
8. Pelicans - Byron Scott B- B C- C+ C- B
8. Pelicans - Byron Scott B- A- C B- C- B (+3)
Pelicans did well with Scott. A plus 2 in outside scoring and a plus one to defense. About as good as you can get considering how poor this class looks.
9. Bulls -Manute Bol C- D C- A C+ B
9. Bulls - Manute Bol C- D C- A B A (+2, +1 pot)
The Nuggets were trying all they could to move up to this pick for Bol but Bruns also had his heart set on the 7 foot monster. A nice TC for Bol with a plus two in rebounding and a gain in potential. Already a perfect big on a contender.
10. Sonics -Antoine Carr B- C- D+ B B- A
10. Sonics - Antoine Carr B- C- D B+ B B (+2, -1 pot)
Carr really didn't do much scoring wise. But he had a nice gain in defense and rebounding. His drop in potential is disappointing. Curious to see if he has any improvement with a move to SF.
11. Nuggets - Rodney McCray B- C C B- C+ A
11. Nuggets - Rodney McCray B- C C B- C+ B (-1 pot)
Nuggets 2nd selection confirms that the scouting department needs to be fired. No movement for McCray and he dropped in potential. The fact that Bankz moved a future pick and 1.18 to move up to take McCray makes this possibly the worst pick of the lottery.
12. Grizzlies - Jeff Malone B- B C C+ C- B
12. Grizzlies - Jeff Malone B A- C B- C- B (+4)
The most improved player in the lotto comes at the tail end in the form of Jeff Malone. Malone looks really interesting and without a drop in potential could have some juice left in him. Probably the best player in this class.
13. Clippers - Zack Bird C C- C- B B- A
13. Clippers - Zack Bird C C- C- A- B A (+3)
Surprised Dirt didn't move Bird before TC. He gets rewarded for his patience. Bird looks like he will be a serviceable big in this league.
14. Lakers- Craig Ehlo B- C C B- C+ A
14. Lakers - Craig Ehlo B- C+ C B- C+ B (+1, -1 Pot)
Buster seemed very happy to pick up Ehlo with the 14th pick. Questioning Bankz move to 1.11 to select McCray. Well good news for Bankz is Ehlo sucks as much dick as McCray so both teams are fucking losers in this battle.
15. Pistons - Thurl Bailey B- C- D+ B C A
15. Pistons - Thurl Bailey B- C D+ B+ C+ A (+2)
Another profile prospect that didn't do much. Still retains his A potential with some slight bumps to rebounding and defense.
16. Nets - Sidney Green B D+ D+B- B+ B
16. Nets - Sidney Green B+ D+ D+ B B+ B (+2)
Sidney got a nice boost to his inside game and his defense improved some. Again nothing to be super excited about but not a complete bust.
17. Celtics - Mark West C+ D D+ B+ B+ C
17. Celtics - Mark West C+ D D+ B B C (-2)
A odd pick for a rebuilding team with a long road ahead. West dropped in the only categories that made him interesting.
18. Kings - York Gross B D D+ C+ B C
18. Kings - York Gross B D C- B- B B (+1, +1 pot)
Gross got a bump in his defense and a pump in potential... possible giving 20's some hope that he could develop into a rotation big at some point.
19. Grizzlies - Norville Brown B- C+ D+ C+ B- C
19. Grizzlies - Norville Brown B- C+ D+ B- B- C (+1)
As nice as Malone was for the Grizzlies, Odins shittastic 3009 class is back to claim another victim. Norville is another fodder. See you on the waiver wire in a few years.
20. Celtics - Sedale Threatt B- C+ B- C+ D+ B
20. Celtics - Sedale Threatt B C+ B+ C+ D B (+3)
Threatt improved his inside scoring and handles. But had no change on defense. Going to be a good PG for tankers. Not so much for contenders.
21. Grizzlies - Dan Gay B- C+ C+ C+ C- B
21. Grizzlies - Dan Gay B- C+ C+ B- C- B (+1)
Gay is another +1 warrior this TC has been producing. Nothing to see here folks.
22. Celtics-Marlow McLain C D+ D B- B B
22. Celtics - Marlow McLain C D+ D+ B B+ B (+2)
Let's be honest the Celtics needed to ship out most of these picks and not for 2nd round picks during the season. In one of the worst classes ever Dump decided to hold steady on most of his picks. A +2 in the important cats gives some hope for McLain to maybe become a third big.
23. Rockets - Ennis Whatley C+ C+ B- B- D+ C
23. Rockets - Ennis Whatley C+ C+ B- B- D+ C (nc)
Another no change prospect. fuck this class
24. Blazers - Barney Mines B- B- B- C C C
24. Blazers - Barney Mines B- B- B- C C C (nc)
Another interesting pick from a tanking team. Mines wont be anything special in this league. Lots of nice options down the road for tankers.
25. Cavs -Granville Waiters C+ C+ C+ B- C B
25. Cavs - Granville Waiters C+ C+ C+ B+ C+ A (+3, +1 pot)
H/T with a nice pick late in this draft. Boost in the major big man grades and a boost in potential.
26. Nuggets - Tanner Wells C+ C C+ C+ C- A
26. Nuggets - Tanner Wells C+ C B- C C- A (+1/-1 Net zero)
Bankz final pick of the first round does nothing. A +1 for handles will be so major. Drop in defense makes this the 3 out 3 shit picks for the Nuggets and a wasted draft.
27. Jazz - Russell Cross B- D D+ B- C+ B
27. Jazz - Russell Cross B- D D+ C+ C+ B (-1)
A terrible off season continues for the Jazz with Mr. Cross going minus one defense and basically making him a waiver wire player down the road. One of many in this class.
28. Celtics - Forfeit
The best move the Celtics made all draft.
29. Raptors - Lex Drum C+ B- C- C+ C B
29. Raptors - Lex Drum B- B C B- C B (+4)
Well look at pete showing off late in the draft. Sexy Lexy looks like a player coming out if this draft. Nice work Raptors.
Players with gains: 19 out of 28
Players with drops: 3 out of 28
Players with no change: 4 out of 28
Players with added potential: 4 out of 28
Players with a loss of potential: 4 out of 28
Worst TC: Mark West -2
Best TC: Lex Drum (raptors) and Jeff Malone (grizzlies)
+/- : +41
This class came in as one of the worst... and it left as one of the worst. Even the studs didn't do jack shit. All the tankers will safely be able to find there way back into the basement with no harm of there rookies leading them to victories. Only two hidden gems in this class but they still have time so hopefully a lot of these guys are late developers.
1. Celtics - Clyde Drexler B B C B- B- A (+2)
