I did this in 3003, 3006, and 3012 and thought it was time to take another look at the disitribtion of ratings league wide again. I will go through each category in detail for 3012 and then provide a side by side comparison of each season at the end to see how ratings are changing. One thing to note is that I used all Free Agents and rostered players for 3012 and 3019 while 3003 and 3006 were just rostered players.
Blake Griffin is the king of inside scoring in TMBSL. We see that Griffin's A+ rating serves him well as he is one of the best scoring bigs in the league. However, there are others who outperform Blake a little bit, showing that his advantage in jumping might not be that advantageous. Neetnum Nagdorus is last which will become a running theme as he is one of the last of the Argonians remaining.
Only four players have an A+ outside scoring rating this time around and one of them is Evan Turner who isn't even highly sought after in the league. The other 3 are very good players. The distribution of outside scoring has changed slightly as we will see later in the comparison between seasons.
Four of the league's PGs have A+ handling. Oscar and Conley are known as two of the elite point men in the league, but Duhon and Scoonie are in that second tier of guys. 49 players have A- handling or better, and while handling isn't all that matters for a PG, if you have a starting PG below A- handling you he is at best the 50th best rated player in TMBSL when it comes to overall Handling.
Only three players have the elusive A+ defense grade in 3019 which is much lower than previous iterations. David Robinson has a defensive player of the year award to his credit, but Muggsy Bogues and Christian Kukoc can't even earn a starting role in the league. Two thirds of the league is B+ or better defensively. Players with B or lower defense are in the bottom 33% of TMBSL players.
Jermaine O'Neal is the lone player with A+ rebounding. Kudos to him. Neetnum at the bottom again.
Rating distribution has stayed pretty similar for the most part. Outside scoring has creeped up over the years which is something to keep an eye on, but the changes aren't anything too large yet. Defense has shifted higher up overall, but there are fewer elite of the elite type defensive players.
