I asked 20s Navidad, Heebs, Mad King, Trofie and Lazy Pete to give me their top 50 players in the league. I used a point system after compiling our lists to come up with the rankings. Gave 50 points for 1st place vote, 49 for 2, 48 for 3, ... 1 for 50th.
This is just the 50 best players in the league at this moment. Age and contracts do not matter.

1.Who are the biggest snubs?
Chris Duhon – Played excellent last year for the Kings. Better than a few of the PGs on this list.
Moochie Norris – He was stuck on a moribund Wolves team and was putting up good numbers. He is truly thriving now on the Nets.
Tobi – Better than Furry at this point.
Brandon Jennings is turning into a nice player with 25ppg and 2.0 TO
Corliss Williamson has great FG% and could be a player in this league depnding on what position he plays.
Walter McCarty has been really good for Bankz and should be on the top 50.
Sedale Threatt the definition of a late bloomer could easily be on this list above a couple other pgs.
Cliff Alexander because i'm pimping him out at 50% shooting at 20 and 11.
Ben Wallace is looking more like Catfish every sim.
Ty Lawson chunkin the duece in Sea.
Snubs I'm going with Champ (having a down year but he'll put it together), Horford ( good on defense can shoot at a good clip) , and Duhon (20's proved that putting viable talent around him makes him an upper tier pg)
Blackmon, DeRozan, Champ, Scoonie
I thought at least one of Odin’s two young wings would make it on the list, and either would’ve been a good choice. The continued mediocrity of the Bobcats probably kept them out of people’s lists. I was sure Champ would make it on here thanks to his reputation, but his poor start to the season didn’t do him any favors. The biggest surprise is Scoonie. He’s elite everywhere except scoring.
Chris Duhon - He has always been pretty underrated in TMBSL in my opinion, but I was surprised not to see him make the top 50. He shoots very good percentages and scores pretty well. He gets high steal amounts, nearly as much as his turnovers. His assist numbers are good. He is a fantastic free throw shooter. And he plays very good defense (or did last year at least) as he led the Kings to the best PG defense in 3019.
Montrezl Harrell - The only thing holding him back for years was his inefficient shooting. He has always been an elite block and rebound guy but he shot it a little too much for a guy who was shooting in the low 40% range. However, now he is shooting around 47% and is a giant asset for the Suns. I think this is a case of a guy whose value was set by his early career and people haven't realized how much better he has gotten.
Al Horford - He is probably the least "snubbed" if I had to say, I don't have as big of an issue with him being left off the list. His turnovers have always been high which is his downfall, but he holds opposing SFs down and puts up pretty good offensive numbers other than turnovers. I had him at 34 on my list which looking back is too high, but I do think he belongs in the 45-50 range due to his defense and shooting percentages.
Chris Duhon is actually 51 on the list and finished just one point behind Ty Lawson. I think 20s article about individual defense showed how good he really is.
I think Walter McCarty could have been in the 40-50 range with the bounce back season he is having. Stats are inflated due to his teammates but he is still having a great season.
Andrew Harrison could probably be on the list now that his shooting percentage has gone back up to 46%.
2.Who are the most overrated players on the list?
Dutch – good, not great, PG. I would rather have Duhon or Norris at this point. Obviously he is a better long-term PG, but right now he is not the 26th best player in the league.
Every big listed after Dwight, but ahead of David Robinson – The Admiral deserves more respect than that. C’mon.
Michael Redd even though he's having a decent FG% year.
Al Horford because those TO are horrible and no 3pt shooting.
QRich went+1 inside but with only 22 pg i dont see him as good as some others do. (maybe im bias because i let him leave FA beacuse i didnt have cap)
I'm going win Dutch. There is no way I'd take him over Nash, Iverson, and some of the wing players on the list. And ya I get he's having a good year but
Monroe, Burch, Nash, Tex
Greg Monroe should’ve been towards the back end of this list if at all. The sun has set on his days as a top player. Dutch may develop into a top 30 player in a couple years but I don’t think he’s there yet. Nash puts up gaudy numbers but I don’t trust him at all defensively and I think his poor grade hurts his value more than most. I like Tex and hope he gets to a point where he deserves to be rated there, but I don’t think he’s better than someone like Dwight Howard or Bryant Reeves.
I am going to preface my answers by saying I think people took youth/age into consideration a little too much in the rankings as it was supposed to be the best players right now, not the best future or what the players will be. It can still be hard to resist youth though.
Buck Williams - Buck is a great young player and he puts up great point totals. That is valuable in itself for a PF. However, PF is pretty loaded in this league right now and I think 13 is too high for him. The list has him above Jermaine O'Neal and Bob Pettit who I think are clearly superior overall players at PF. I would prefer O'Neal or Pettit right now to Buck. I personally had Buck at 21 which I think is more appropriate than 13.
Bryant Reeves - I think this is another case where a player got a boost due to his age. Reeves is already a very good player and he definitely belongs on this list, but 28 is too high for him right now. He is above guys like Dick Furry and Greg Monroe who I still prefer to him at this point. Reeves needs to improve his rebounding and defense before I would put him as high as he is on the list.
Nick Fazekas - I am not really impressed by Nick Fazekas' current game. I think he is too high at 33 and belongs towards the bottom of the list if he even makes the top 50.
Ronald Savage is a little high for my taste at 19, but I can see how it can be justified due to the lack of SF talent in the league right now.
Lance Stephenson is too high at 23, he should be in the 40-50 if even on the list at all. His scoring and shooting percentages have gone down this year and I think he’s getting up there in age now that he is 34.
Stanley Johnson has been horrible this year, probably doesn’t belong on the list averaging just 17 points on 41.2% shooting. Maybe he’ll get better in Golden State but I think he misses Ian.
It could be because I look at all his box scores but I don’t think David Robinson is that good or deserves to be on the list. He’s having a really bad year so far shooting just 36% and averaging only 13 rebounds and 3 blocks. (And I probably just killed all his trade value.)
3.Who are the most underrated players on the list?
David Robinson – He should be about 20 spots higher on this list based on his contributions to a perennially excellent 76ers squad.
Buck Williams looks to be better than Reef this year.
Savage is lower than i thought for the career he's had.
If I go by the list I submitted the biggest snubs would be Selvy and Kaminsky. I had them both a bit higher, and I think they should be. I think someone that will climb on the list eventually and make it big is Tobi
Michael Smith, Vlade
Two names stuck out to me in particular. Michael Smith is currently the best wing scorer on a team with Clyde Drexler and Stanley Robinson, something I never would’ve thought possible a couple seasons ago. Vlade just barely made the list, but GBG will be the first to tell you how good a defender and rebounder he is. I like him more than Dick Furry or Emeka at this point.
Quentin Richardson - This guy is a stud offensively and defensively. He is getting pushed down the list because of the start of his career. He had his true breakout season last year, but he was one of the best SG in TMBSL defensively and put up great numbers on the defensive end of the floor as well. He is one of the top SGs in the league right now. I personally had him at 27 compared to the 48 where he came in on the list.
Dick Furry - Another guy who was a force defensively last year as the Clippers played the best SF defense in TMBSL. He is pretty old and definitely coming to the end of his career which is why I am guessing he slipped, but he is still a fantastic player at this point which is how I made my list.
Michael Redd - Another guy who I think flies under the radar in TMBSL. With Redd, I am guessing it is because he doesn't have one super sexy skill where he just puts up crazy stats. However, he has no weaknesses in his game and played awesome defense last year for the Nets as well. Another great two way SG who I had as a top 20 player in TMBSL. His rebounding numbers at SG are a bonus as well.
Ben Wallace should be higher than 47, he’s the best defense/rebounding only big in the league and is having a great season averaging 11 rebounds and 4 blocks.
Mustafa Shakur is better than Nash and Iverson. He’s just been playing for a team that isn’t utilizing his talent properly. He’d still put up big numbers if he were the number 1 option on a team that ran fast/outside focus.
Michael Smith could be about 10 spots higher, to put up 30 on 45% shooting is legit.
4.If we were to redo this at the end of the season who do you think would make the biggest climb up the rankings?
Moochie Norris would make it on the list and make a big leap up.
Michael Smith based on his play so far this year.
Jerry Stackhouse and Mark Aguirre because of their age and vets getting older.
Two way race for me. I think they could be higher now but Aguirre and Reeves. I think they will be elite players when we're all said and done. Reeves as a Blair light and Aguirre as a do it all wing.
Michael Smith, Isiah
As I mentioned earlier, I think Michael Smith is a star and if he keeps up the production he’s showed so far this season he’ll easily be a high riser at the end of the season. Another one I’d expect to rise is Isiah. He’s been mediocre at best over the first two years of his career but finally seems to be putting together the season many expected of him at draft time.
I would guess guys having breakout seasons like Lawson. Quentin Richardson after a second straight solid year cements his status in people's mind. And then young guys not currently on the list like Corliss Williamson, DeMar DeRozan, etc could have a chance.
I think Isiah Thomas will rise once the Hawks start winning more games. His shooting percentage is going up every sim this season and is averaging 2.7 steals.
Ty Lawson is another, he could lead the league in scoring this season once his shooting percentage returns to normal. Currently he is averaging 35.4 on 44% shooting.
Frank Selvy good jump into the top 5 if he keeps up these stats and the Heat keep winning games. He looks like Gary Bossert without the blocked shots.
5.Which team do you feel is underachieving with the talent on their roster?
Knicks – Champ, Monroe, McCall should be good for a playoff lock.
Bulls – Is Kemp holding this team back? I just don’t understand.
Kings – Turner has underperformed, and Duhon and Lance took a step back. Hope remains, but not much.
i think its all pretty par with Harrison going Nick Diaz on the league.
If you go purely on the rankings it would have to be the Hawks. Am I surprised? No
Bullets, Cavs
The Bullets have three wing players in the top 30 of this list but are barely a playoff team. The Cavs have a couple highly regarded players in Fazekas and Iverson, but they’re really hamstrung by the supporting cast H/T has built around them.
According to this list, the Cavs. They have two players in the top 35 (Iverson and Fazekas) and aren't even sniffing the playoffs. However, as I said, I think Fazekas is overrated on the list. So my personal answer would be the Hawks. They have three players on the list and are not currently in the playoffs.
I previously had the Bullets but they have now won 12 straight. So I'll go with the Bulls since they are 7 games under .500 with Durant (22), Dutch (27), Harrison is good enough to be on the list and also Kemp.
6.Rank the depth of the postions in the league from strongest to weakest.
PF/C (these are interchangeable), PG, SG, SF.
1.PG
2.SG
3.SF
4.C
5.PF
1. Pf
2. Pg
3. Sg
4. Sf
5. C
PF, SG, PG, SF, C
The change in rules preventing PF/Cs to move to SF has been a boon to the PF position, as there are way more big men present on this list than I ever would’ve thought. Also, that’s led to a reduction in the talent pool for SFs, and a lot of the better 3s in the league are players born in the Odin age.
1. PF
2. PG
3. SG
4. C
5. SF
1. PF
2. PG
3. SG
4. SF
5. C
7.Any general thoughts on the list or talent in the league overall?
I am enjoying the lack of tanking and the overall quality of the GM’ing these days. I also am encouraged by the Thunder’s perceived vulnerabilities. I would have thought they, similar to the Suns of a few sim seasons ago, would look invincible in the regular season. They will end the season with the best record in the league, but there is hope that we won’t have third-straight Thunder championship.
A Shit ton of scoring bigs in the league alot more than i thought. I'm seeing some young forwards that could be really good going forward. The league does need more true SF.
I think its very good. It's a cycle like college football. Certain positions are going to be better but for the most part I think the league is very balanced at the moment. And you've got some older elite players that will further help balance out the league
A couple interesting notes about the list. The top two players were both taken outside of the lottery (Harrison at 2.21, Porzingis at 1.20). After them, you have to go all the way down to John Pierce at #20 to find a player taken outside of the lottery. In total, there are 8 non-lotto players on this list. There is only one player on this list drafted in the 1.20-1.29 range.
I was also curious how many on the list were created by Odin and how many came from Soup. The Odin-built players still hold the edge overall (31-19) and still constitute the cream of the crop, as they are 8 of the top 10.
I think the league talent is very good overall. It has shifted from PG and wing heavy to a little more balanced, but that is a good thing IMO. There were way too many dominant PGs in the creation file and nearly every PG was averaging less than 2 turnovers per game for a while. I like the depth of power forwards that we have in the league right now as it is nice to have big men once again a factor. The limits on moving big men to SF has likely hurt the SF position a bit, but I think that will balance itself out in time.
Soup is making those super stud players they are just taking a little longer to develop compared to Odin’s.
7 of the top 20 came from Soup’s classes and 19 of the top 50.
That 3013 class was ridiculous, the top 3 players on the list came from that class and 7 of the top 50.
League could use some good young small forwards.
This is just the 50 best players in the league at this moment. Age and contracts do not matter.

1.PG
2.SG
3.SF

5.PF

PF, SG, PG, SF, C
The change in rules preventing PF/Cs to move to SF has been a boon to the PF position, as there are way more big men present on this list than I ever would’ve thought. Also, that’s led to a reduction in the talent pool for SFs, and a lot of the better 3s in the league are players born in the Odin age.
1. PF
2. PG
3. SG
4. C
5. SF
