In the interests of league unity, I'm making this space for people to talk about the power hour. This isn't a "let's rip on Ankly" post. This is a "let's understand how Ankly thinks" post. Here are the facts:
1. For over a month ANK1990 has been working on a power hour. Having recently been in a position to try and get input from all the GMs for depth charts, I recognize how laborious that part is, as well as how laborious the physical making of the power hour is.
2. Last night ANK1990 contacted several specific GMs to say that the power hour was on for that night. At no point was a shout or post made, and at no point was the power hour's time advertised in advance.
.
Speaking for myself, I don't understand this at all.
Why go out of your way to exclude people?
Why put in all that work only to go out of your way to reduce the potential audience?
Why solicit input from people if you didn't want them there?
Don't you feel this has disincentivized people from participating in power hours?
For the other GMs who were there, did you consider publicizing the power hour as it was going on? Were you explicitly told not to?
These questions aren't rhetorical. Like I said in the draft post, discontent comes from expectations not met. If I can understand your decision making process then I will have an easier time making my own decisions in the future. I want to reiterate that this is NOT a "let's rip on Ankly" post.
