Pythagorean Win-Loss uses points scored and allowed to try and determine what a team's record should have been without the effects of close games, whose results are more skewed by luck. Using b-r here is how the playoff bracket goes with nominal upsets bolded: Cavs (57) over Pistons (43) Raptors (53) over Pacers (46) Hornets (49) over Heat (46)Hawks (51) over Celtics (50) Cavs (57) over Hawks (51) Raptors (53) over Hornets (49) Cavs (57) over Raptors (53) . Warriors (65) over Rockets (42) Spurs (67) over Grizzlies (35) Thunder (59) over Mavericks (40) Clippers (53) over Trailblazers (43) Warriors (65) over Clippers (53) Spurs (67) over Thunder (59) Spurs (67) over Warriors (65). Spurs (67) over Cavs (57) . I also expect the Celtics to upset the Hawks and the Cavs to upset the Spurs, but other than that I feel like this is how the playoffs will go.

The only Eastern Conference upset that would surprise me is the Pistons over the Cavs.

The Pacers roster is pretty bad, but I think Vogel can coach with the best of them.
