Hope College

Growing up in the basketball mecca of Indiana, Dustin woke up at 5am to spend 2 hours in the gym every morning practicing his free throws. After not missing a single free throw his first three years at Hope, he spent the summer between his junior and senior years he developed a left-handed free throw shot to stay challenged and mentally focused. He shot 100 percent from the stripe his senior year, too. An athletic phenom, Dustin is 240 lbs of muscle with barely any body fat. Even with his considerable bulk, he is extremely quick. Despite his automatic jump shot, he spent most of his time in college abusing opposing guards in the post. His strength, quickness, and array of inside moves inside allow him to finish at the rim at will. He has a sixth, seventh, and eighth sense on the court with the ball in his hands and never, ever, ever, turns the ball over. Defensively Dustin plays tough defense on the perimeter, but doesn't play a bit of drive defense. This is intentional, however, as he averaged over 3 blocks a game in college by letting players drive by him and using his quickness and shot blocking ability to swat their intended layups from behind. Ole! He has high energy on the glass and crashes the boards consistently. His strength and quickness allow him to get into position for a lot of offensive rebounds. If there is one downside to his game, it is his selfishness with the ball. Despite being his team's primary ball handler, he never passes the ball. With his advanced age and already elite game, scouts question how much potential he has left.
