The guy can straight up play the game of basketball. He got his first pair of basketball shoes at age 3 and hasn’t stopped playing since. Where Majic really excels is in the nitty-gritty parts of the game. He is not blessed with “all-world” talent, but understands the nuance of the game and can compete with anyone. His strength lies in his overall skill level, not having any major deficiency in his game. He has a natural shooting stroke that lead to high percentages while at OSU and an ability to be the only option. Defensively he will not fill up the stat sheet but plays great team defense, when needed can lock down even the best scorer if only once or twice. You need him to create his own shot? He can do it. You need him to drive the lane and get a bucket? He is your best option. You need one defensive stop to seal a victory? He will lock it down. The biggest flaw in Majic’s game however can be his lack of effort. From time to time he will not mentally be locked in, and his overall play suffers. He also does tend to take chances, whether it be an ill-advised steal attempt or trying to do it all alone on the offensive side.
Overall scouts are clamoring to see what he can do against the NBA’s great. All agree that his potential is a mystery as his work ethic will determine how good he becomes. On the plus side, given his savviness, his floor is high and worst case will be a useful starter in this league for a long time.
