I have devised another Microsoft Excel sheet that I think will help more with the rookie TC post each year. The stumbling block every year is getting the pre-TC grades in, so I figured why not remove that part of the sheet entirely, let the GM do that and the names manually since they pretty much have to anyway, and go from there.
1. Where it says "year" in Sheet2 cell A1, put the current (sim) year.
2. Enter the name and pre-TC grades of every player in the draft.
3. Activate macro "Step1". This pulls the post-TC team, age, weight, height, and grades of every player.
4. Wait about five minutes.
5. Activate macro "Step2". This sorts all the data from the previous macro.
6. Wait about three minutes.
7. Copy Sheet2 column U to a post on the page.
As before, all the colors and +/- are done! All you need do is add commentary. When in doubt, do not type anything unless it's within a black border.
I am leaving the old sheet and instructions also in this post in case anyone in the future decides to take a crack at automating the pre-TC, but it's really a hassle so I encourage people to just use V2 of the sheet instead.

I have devised a Microsoft Excel sheet that I think will help with the rookie TC post each year. Here's how it works.
1. Where it says "year", put the current (sim) year.
2. In column A of Sheet2, paste from the draft thread that gbg makes.
3. Activate macro "Step1"
4. Wait about five minutes, more or less depending on the power of your machine.
5. Activate macro "Step2"
6. Wait about three minutes.
7. If any name has "FIX THIS NAME" pointing to it, fix that name. This is usually because the relevant name is three words long.
8. Activate macro "Step3"
9. Copy the AW column into a post on these boards.
10. If a team name exists next to any entry in AW, it means you need to change the team name in that entry. Do not try and do this in Excel.
11. That's it!
All the grades and +/- and colors are done. With so much time and energy saved on getting/typing that, you can spend plenty of time making hilarious comments! The sheet works in Excel 2007 through 2013. I don't have any other versions of Excel and so can't test them there. For those of you who haven't used macros before, you won't be able to use Excel (for this or any other sheet) while the macro is running, and for Step1 especially it will look like nothing is happening at first except for a faint flickering. This is normal.
Let me know if you run across any issues!
