The Good: Waiters has the skills of a combo-guard. He can get open looks for teammates with his ability to create off the dribble. He’s very strong and can bully opposing guards that try to stay in front of him. He’s a good finisher inside that can effectively absorb and deflect contact at the rim. Waiters has an above average jump shot with good range. He’s not bashful about getting his shots up. Defensively, he has active hands and quick feet, and is a constant threat to steal the ball when defending a carless ball handler.
The Bad: May have trouble defending quicker guards. Waiters should be an instant offense type of player off the bench if he’s too much of a liability on defense.
The Ugly: It’s unknown how he’ll do as an individual defender due to playing in Syracuse’s 2-3 zone.
