State of the Atlantic
3002 Finish: Eastern Conference Champ
Current Grade: A
Future Grade B (lowered slightly because of Dump's history as a GM)
Coming off the greatest FA in Dump's GM history where he snagged Bob Lanier and was able to keep Alvan Adams, Dump made it to the TMBSL finals for the first time in his very long sim career before getting knocked off by the Jazz. Dump is in a great position where his 3 best players are all locked up on 5 year contracts and Cliff T. Robinson is developing very nicely. Dump has many options ahead of him and at minimum has a 3 year title window. Dump heads into this FA with 18 million of space under the hard cap and a first round pick in 3006 and 3008 to play with this offseason. The time is now for Dump to make his big move and find the guy that will put him over the top
Best players:
Causes for concern
None really outside of Lanier's age. He is already 31 and will be 36 by the end of his deal. Another cause for concern in the future is cap space. with 3 max contracts already on the books and Cliff Robinson looking like he will require one as well, Dump is 2 years away from some extremely difficult decisions.
What I would do as GM this offseason
Find another Big. Cliff Robinson looks like a future stud, but right now that B defense is an issue. Right now he is perfectly suited to be a 3rd big for the Celtics and dominate off the bench. Even without that, dump is in position to take the east again.
3002 finish: complete shit
Current Grade: D
Future Grade D+
After a disastrous year where nothing went right, the decision was made to blow it up in Miami. Out went former league MVP candidate Bob McAdoo and recent hired gun ML Carr and the team was put in the hands of the young guys Reggie King and Khalid Reeves. The future is clear for the Miami Heat, either get really lucky in FA and get George Gervin to sign, or tank for MJ.
Best Players: (only good players on whole roster)
Causes for Concern:
This roster isn't terrible and that is not a good thing for tanking purposes. To make it worse, one of the teams better players is a PG. Tanking 101 is always about having the worst possible PG. It is going to be tough to get to the bottom of the tanking pool with Khalid Reeves on the roster.
What I would do as GM this offseason:
It is really simple. Get lucky in FA or keep tanking.
3002 Finish: Eastern Conference runner up
Current Grade: B+
Future Grade B
Nets are pretty much all in right now. Scat has a great core with moses, neon, and Carr. Neon with 3 years left on his rookie deal leaves Scat with a ton of room to maneuver. Neon and Moses are a scary combo. While he doesn't have a pick for the next two years as well as this season, He does have some wiggle room. With the traditional scat luck, I am sure he will be fine in the future.
Best Players
Causes for Concern
The Nets need a PG. It is that simple. Wilbur Holland is not going to get it done in the future. Scat made the obvious decision to decline that terrible deal, but now he needs to go find someone better. Other than that, he is in good shape.
What I would do as GM this offseason:
Trade those 06 and 07 firsts for a new PG this offseason. He has a window of opportunity, but needs to capitalize while Neon is still cheap.
3002 Finish: 10-72
Current Grade: D+
Future Grade C
The Magic are in full tank mode. MJ has signed quite the roster of shittiness. However, it really hasn't paid off just yet. Juan Howard looks like a solid prospect but doesn't look like a future star at this point. Otis Birdsong was just taken with the 5th overall pick in the draft, and MJ better hope he is a +1 at PG and then has a good TC, or his rebuild may be completely dependent on winning the lotto next season. with 2 first round picks in each of the next 3 drafts, MJ is in good shape.
Best Players
Otis Birdsong SG/PG 6'3'' 190 22 B- C+ C C+ D A
There is no need to mention a 3rd player
Causes for Concern
No real red flags other than the fact that MJ has tanked for 2 years already and hasn't struck gold yet.
What I would do as GM this offseason:
This one is really simple. Offer Gervin a max, if he doesn't take it, keep tanking.
3002 Finish: 22-60
Current Grade: D
Future Grade: C-
Another team in full tank mode. This team is not as shitty as MJ's Magic which in TMSBL is not a good thing. Skrouse has 2 decent players in Dave Greenwood and Jason Kidd. Kidd has great handles and defense, but needs to work on his offense. If he gets that straightened out, the knicks will have a legit PG for the future, however it will also make tanking difficult. Skrouse is hoping that Tom Lagarde can become a great defensive big who will let skrouse tank for one more year.

Causes for concern
He has some multi year contracts that will be tough to move if he decides to end his tank and start winning this year. He also has yet to find a franchise player. Skrouse is in a slightly worse position in MJ that he has already been tanking for a little bit but it hasn't paid off yet. He also only is due one future first but it is from the Pistons. That has a good probability of being a lotto pick.
What I would do as GM this offseason
Hope for some TC luck and keep tanking.
3002 Finish: 9-73

Another team in full tank mode in the Atlantic. Fason has a team capable of losing a lot of games, but just like the Magic and the Knicks, has yet to find a franchise player. Brian Grant is a nice player, but unlikely to ever be a max caliber player. Other than that, there isn't much to talk about other than that the Sixers will have 4 picks in the loaded 3004 draft.
Best players:
Norm Nixon PG 6'2'' 170 22 C+ C+ B B- D+ A
Causes for Concern
His best player is a guy he just drafted #3 overall in a 2 player draft. That would have any GM worried
What I would do as GM this offseason
Hope for some TC luck and keep tanking. I almost wouldn't bother going after Gervin, because even with some FA luck, this team has too many holes to have a chance of competing in the near future.
3002 Finish: 13-63
Current Grade: D+
Future Grade: C
I like what young gm Kn88 has done in his first tank job as a GM. He has a high upside player in Jalen Rose who barring a huge TC won't prevent him from tanking for another seaon and going after MJ. His roster is filled with a ton of crap outside of Rose, and his first round pick while he should be a solid defensive presence, shouldn't help the team win many games.
Best players:
James Edwards C 20 7'0'' 225 C D+ D B- B A
Causes for Concern
While he has done a good job tanking, he doesn't have any owed picks to him in the coming years, that will limit his maneuverability when he decides to start competing.
What I would do as GM this offseason
Get active and pump points into Jalen Rose.
