Strengths:
This big man out of Kansas has coaches and scouts excited about his size and unique skillset. As a scorer, he can finish with power or finesse down low, along with stepping out to knock down the open jumper. Lafrentz’ shooting stroke and range suggests that he’ll be able to turn into a stretch five. Defensively, he’s a solid post defender that doesn’t give his man much room to on the block. He excels as a help-side defender that can come over to block and change shots at the rim. Was able to improve that facet of his game each year in college and could be an even better shot blocker at the next level. Lafrentz is a solid rebounder that has a good understanding of positioning and how to use his body.
Weaknesses:
His lack of elite athleticism may hurt his scoring potential. He’ll likely never be the type of player who will consistently go out and get you 25 points a night. Will need to get stronger to be a dominant post defender and rebounder.
