Strengths:
Wells is undersized four playing on the wing. He has a good post game, great strength and soft touch around the rim. He can really score from 12 feet and in, knows how to use his body to create separation to get shots up. He uses fakes well around the basket to create scoring opportunities and to go to the free throw line at a high rate. Wells is a good rebounder that loves to crash the offensive glass. While at Ball State, he was terror when it came to forcing turnovers.
Weaknesses:
He’s a streaky shooter that needs become more consistent with his jumper. He gets a little too aggressive off the dribble at times, leading to excessive turnovers. On defense, he doesn’t have the quickness to keep most swingmen out of the lane. While he was great at forcing turnovers against the competition in the MAC, that skill likely won’t completely transfer to the next level and he’ll need to play with more effort as an individual defender.
