 Derek Vinyard 27 SG/PG 6'0 200 California Correctional Center B- C+ C+ C+ C- B
Strengths:Surprisingly good athlete with impressive leaping ability. Can make highlight reel plays in the open floor. He uses his strength and athleticism well when finishing in the paint over bigger players. Has a decent jump shot, but the majority of his points are going to come from 15 feet and in. Vinyard has a good first step to blow by his defender and make flashy passes to set up open teammates at the rim. On defense, he has quick feet and is good at jumping passing lanes. Weaknesses:Hasn't played much basketball over the last three years, it's unknown how he'll adjust to playing at the pro level and if his game has much room to grow. His size could be an issue on defense if he has to defend bigger players on the wing. |
