Guess who's back, back again? Taco's back, tell a friend. Guess who's back, guess who's back, guess who's back, guess who's back, guess who's back. I know everyone was on edge but Taco's back writing articles! After the solid reception from the first Draft Analysis, I am here to do it again. Unlike Heebs, there will be no pictures and frills in my article(s). It's pure, hot, smelly information that hits hard and gets to the point. Anyways, here is my draft board/summit reaction article, which I plan on doing yearly moving forward. My credentials, which were a bright point in my first article, will now be updated yearly with a "Previous draft hits and misses" section. Nothing elaborate but something to keep me in check. Let's go!
Credentials:
GM for 14 seasons. I drafted Dario Saric, Eric Gordon, Jim Krebe, Butch Lee, and Rowdy Eavenson all at the 7th pick or lower in the draft. That's about it.
3037 Draft Analysis Hits
1) Patrick Ewing - Even though I put him behind the mailman, my description basically stated he was going to be an all-timer depending on his efficiency. Guess what? His efficiency is not an issue. Like, at all.
2) Wayman Tisdale - Guys looks like the real deal. Looks like a 18/10 player per 36min and he's shooting 48%, which is great.
3) Xavier McDaniel - Dude is averaging a double/double as a rookie and shooting 46% from the field. 2 steals per game is also nice. Looks like a blocking TC/RC is necessary but he should be a keeper for years to come.
3037 Draft Analysis Misses
1) Karl Malone - Yikes. This is proof that Taco is human and the Summit isn't everything. Numbers aren't horrible but he's basically a poor man's Xavier McDaniels. Lower shooting %, lower blocks, lower steals, and more turnovers.
2) Mario Elie - I pretty much pegged him to the worst wings on my list of wings. He ain't. He's shooting 47% from the field and 45% from 3pt. He fell to #17 in the draft but I can almost guarantee he wouldn't fall that low in a re-draft.
3) AC Green - Damn this dude looks like poo. Definitely shouldn't have been in the top 5 wings or big men draft. Shooting inefficiently (35%) and a lot is not a good look.

If we can all stop the circle jerk of Austin Rivers for a second, Dame looks like the real deal. He has the profile, the measureables, and the Summit to prove that he is definitely a top 3 overall pick. 28ppg/7.5rpg/8.5apg were his averages in two games in the Summit. His only negative in his profile is that he played against inferior competition at the College level and the draft masters aren't sure "how it will translate." Take it from Taco, it's going to translate nicely.
2) Austin Rivers

Uh oh. It looks like TMBSL Austin Rivers is the opposite of real life Austin Rivers. 33.5ppg/3rpg/9apg in the Summit....on 61% shooting. He was incredibly efficient and frankly a baller. How long can he keep that up? Is he Karl Malone 2.0 with regards to Summit production? He had 8 turnovers in one of the games....is that a bad omen?Once again, Rivers is a profile player, has great measureables, and produced at an unreal clip. Should be a top 10 pick in the draft but I could see someone taking a chance around 5 or 6.
3) Kendall Marshall

This was a tough one but Marshall was really the only who would kinda made my dick wiggle at all. Averaged 13apg at the Summit but was pretty inefficient and had some turnover issues. I really like his measureables though. Pretty clear that there are only two "sure thing" PGs you want in this draft and Marshall comes in behind them.

He's super young and had a quality Summit without putting up crazy numbers. Keep an eye on where he goes because it could be a steal.
Wings
1) Dion Waiters

B- B- C+ C+ C- A
Not who you were expecting eh? Waiters played really well at the Summit. He averaged 31.5ppg/7.5rpg/3apg while shooting over 50%. He also got to the line 20 times in two games!! He looks to be, at least, solid. According to his profile, defense was "his biggest issue" so if he can fix that, he should be a consistent starter for some team. Honestly, he wasn't my top pick before the Summit but the next player on my list really played himself out of my good graces.
2) Bradley Beal

B- B- C B- C+ A
No way around it guys. Beal sucked ass at the Summit. He was literal poop. 7.5ppg/6.5rpg/3.5apg while shooting 26%. In a post game interview, he spoke about a Top Rookies article and his best friend, Xavier McDaniel, was left out to dry after having an incredibly successful rookie season. He claimed it "made no sense" and he had to "re-evaluate his play style" hoping to get more recognition. Whatever happened, the prospect Bradley Beal is what he is. He's a profile player with great measurables. He's young AF and has plenty of time to develop. His grades are beautiful. I had to drop him because of that performance but he has way to high of an upside to fall father than this. Honestly, he will still probably be a top 10 pick and rightfully so.
3) Harrison Barnes

This one was tough but I went with the profile player with great grades. Barnes had an above average Summit but that was mostly due to one game. He looked like a great player with a line of 29/6 chipping in 3 steals and 1 block. The next game was a different story with a line of 14/5/3 and 1 steal. The grades and size are pretty but which Harrison are you going to get on a regular basis?

No surprises here. Davis looks to be as good as advertised. He grabbed 24 rebounds in one of the Summit games. He averaged 5bpg over the two games. Probably the best overall talent in the draft. Unless someone has no need for a big or gets infatuated with a PG, he should go #1 overall. Once again, he is a young'n so may take a couple years to evolve into his final form....much like Goku in Dragon Ball Z.

Dude had a great Summit and has the measureables to back it up. Averaged 27ppg/9rpg/2apg/2bpg. According to his profile, his jump shot is a mess but it looks here that it really doesn't matter. Also, it's important to note that he shot efficiently at 50% from the field; however, it should be noted that according to Eric, 50% from the field isn't impressive if you aren't shooting 3pts. I expected him to be the 2nd big taken off the board because of his age/potential/size/grades/production to back it up.
3) Draymond Green

B- C+ C+ B B B
Draymond and his big floppy cock appear to be as advertised. He did a little bit of everything and took Bankz to the promised land of the Summit. His line was 19.5ppg/10rpg/5.5apg/1spg/1bpg. I don't predict he will ever be the best player on a championship team but I believe he can compliment a superstar. With that having been said, I believe that B potential is correct and he's not gonna skyrocket to any crazy production level. I don't really like his grades/measureables that much but his hidden dick punching grade is expected to be near 100.
