And we're back! Preseason. 1. Damian Lillard Another year, another clear #1 ROY favorite. He's one of two rookies to break 20 pts/36, he's got above average efficiency and his three point ratio suggests his true talent level is in the 42% range so his numbers only fix to climb. His ast/tov ratio isn't excellent and his defense leaves a little to be desired, but even taking into account his playing SG those rebounds are very nice. Clearly the best player on the Thunder, currently on IR . 2. Andre Cowens Andre is in pretty much every way a knockoff of Dame. He's the other rookie to put up 20, he does so on average efficiency. He also looks to get a 3P% bump but not as big. Slightly worse ast/tov ratio, defense, and rebounding. He's also currently a Free Agent so... . 3. Anthony DavisThe scoring is a bit of a let down, but he's got elite defensive numbers and jump shot. Certainly has the easiest and highest ceiling going forward, +16 in Inside Scoring should do him just fine. . 4. Bradley Beal Excellent efficiency with the promise of more to come as his Three Point Shot grows, and even this season he expects to be in the high 30s. Excellent rebounding for a wing and very strong shot blocking to boot. His volume isn't where you want it, but volume is the easiest thing to fix. He's the only rookie I think could challenge Lillard for ROY if he got a starting spot, but the Nets have Nique and Sam so that seems unlikely. He's my pick to finish #2 by season's end though. . 5. John Jenkins Now we take a step down, but it's not as far as it first looks. Both three point ratio and his A Outside grade tell us that his 3P% is coming way up, and even without it he's already ahead of Beal on volume. He's behind Beal on defense and rebounding, but he's no slouch in either. Add a little bit of a turnover problem and it's a pretty clear gap between the two. . 6. Tyler ZellerThis year's Wayman Tisdale, but if he put up a lot more buckets and got a lot more rebounds. Like Wayman, he needs that shot blocking to come up to be a real player, but he's three quarters of the way there. Also shows how much stronger this year's class is that he's down here instead of #3. . 7. Albie Friedman This year's Alredick Hughes (who put up 20 a game on 48%/90%/34% this year in preseason), and I'm not sure how this happened but he's listed as a FA in preseason but is on the Celtics now. I assume the CPU wanted to add to reigning champion user dump time's storied list of cut players, because Albie was scorching hot. Unlike Alredick he doesn't have the volume and he also has a turnover issue, so the future isn't as rosy, but you can't ignore 1.4 pts/tsa. . 8. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist A really weird build so far. I'm also not positive which position he played in preseason. Depending on that he has very good or incredible shot blocking, very bad or horrific scoring, bizarrely good ast/tov ratio, and solid rebounding. Offers just the hint of a three ball which could go a long way to getting him respectable efficiency, but we've gotta see where he is at an actual position before we can really tell anything about him. Another interesting Hawk. . 9. Jared Sullinger Slightly more efficient than Zeller, but worse everywhere else, especially shot blocking. I'm pretty sure the software played him as an actual big too which is a major concern. Still, it's a lot easier for a big to grow shot blocking than jump shot, so with a little love and a little luck Jared has a future in this league. . 10. Arnett Moultrie Pretty solid d/r numbers, efficient enough scorer with low enough volume, good size. He'll probably never be anything more than a good d/r big, but that's not nothing.

day 30. 1. Damian Lillard - LR #1No shock he holds his position and due to playing time alone he's almost sure to be ROY, but he's starting to have some pressure from below. His efficiency, a/t ratio, and rebounding all dipped from preseason. The other two PGs on the ladder aren't going to keep up their super elite efficiency, but if they can just be very good they have a chance to be the best PG in this draft, which is a shock. . 2. John Jenkins - LR #5As predicted his three point percentage jumped big time from preseason, leaving JoJe the best pure scorer in the draft right now. Has a bit of a turnover problem and isn't great at anything else, but with his scoring sewn up those can be shored up. . 3. Casper Ware - LR unrankedHis point guard numbers are perfect, as they were in a similarly small preseason sample size. Elite efficiency, great a/t ratio, solid volume. His rebounding and defense are bad and he's not going to maintain 53/100/63, so I could only put him as high as #3, but the league had better be Ware the newest great 76ers PG. . 4. Khris Middleton - LR unrankedVery good efficiency after being very poor in preseason. Solid d/r numbers after being middling in preseason. Best a/t ratio of all rookies which makes it a shame that this is the first year his draft position is permanently ineligible for PG. No way of knowing which is the real Khris yet but if it's the regular season version he could start for a championship team today. . 5. Bradley Beal - LR #4Went exactly 2 for 8 from three in the preseason and so far in the regular season. The rebounding and hyper efficiency is still there, he just needs more playing time and isn't gonna get it on this Nets squad. . 6. Marquis Teague - LR unrankedHis numbers are just a little behind Casper's across the board, plus he didn't play at all in preseason. Maybe if he spent a little less time haunting Lazy Pete and a little more time in the gym he could break 2 rebounds per 36 minutes. Until then it's hard to see him breaking the top five. . 7. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist - LR #8Now we know he's playing SF, and more importantly he's dragged his efficiency up from "horrific" to "bad but within reason". He's got the defense, rebounding, and jump shot, so he can be a productive player. I don't know if he can get his scoring up enough to be a star, and he'll probably always have turnover issues, but he and Hughes give Atlanta a very interesting wing combination going forward. . 8. John Henson - LR unrankedHe's a d/r big, you could plug him into any team and he'll work. There's really no chance he'll ever be a two way big, but he's a d/r big. . 9. Tyler Zeller - LR #6It's no wonder the Yawnpers are looking to move Gminski when they have a ready made replacement. Zeller's scoring continues to be excellent, his blocks are inching towards mediocre, his rebounding is decent. Has a slight turnover problem but the main issue will be his blocks. He's at 1.8, if he can get into the 2s by the end of this year he'll look very nice going forward. . 10. Anthony Davis - LR #3The Brow's numbers dipped only slightly from preseason, his drop on the ladder is mainly due to other players getting better. With that said, the longer he shows below average offense, the harder it is to believe he'll become an elite two way player someday. previously ranked: Andrew Cowens, Albie Friedman (haven't played) Arnett Moultrie (forgot how to block shots) Jared Sullinger (other players are better)

Meyers Leonard is the new Xavier McDaniels Who? I believe he is referring to current Warrior, Xavier McDaniel. Can't be entirely sure though.

day 60. 1. Damian Lillard - LR #1He's still the best. It's not as much of a runaway as I thought it would be and I don't know why the software is freezing him out of ROTMs, but he's still the best. His %s are going to come up a little and he doesn't even need them to. He's already the second best scorer in the class, has decent handling, and is a solid rebounder/defender for a PG. . 2. John Jenkins - LR #2Still the best scorer in the class and still needs it because the defense and turnovers are still a concern. . 3. Khris Middleton - LR #4I put my man Khris ahead of Casper but they're very very close. Between 3P% regression and preseason I don't think Khris' true talent level is a league average scorer this year, but he's close enough that even TC should be enough to get him there, and he's good enough everywhere else that his GM should feel free to invest in him on top of it. He will probably never be the best player on a champion, but he's so well rounded that he could start on any champion. . 4. Casper Ware - LR #3I really like Casper going forward, if this was futures only I'd have him at #2. Best ast/tov ratio in the class, 3PR suggests he's going to have a big surge in scoring efficiency, decent volume on his scoring. His problem is his size, defense, and rebounding are all huge concerns, and with so many great point guards in the Atlantic it's hard to start a one way player there. He's got time to blossom though, and like Jenkins he's got so many strengths already that there's much less opportunity cost investing in his weaknesses. . 5. JaMychal Green - LR unrankedA new boy on the ladder, JaMychal is the best two way rookie big so far. He's scoring at a good volume and average efficiency, his d/r numbers aren't great but aren't terrible, he's got okay size. I don't think he'll ever be a star and two way bigs are tricky pieces to fit, but he's a solid player right now, which is more than we can say for anyone else lower on the ladder. . 6. Marquis Teague - LR #6Marqy is currently a much more efficient scorer than Casper, but the peripherals suggest a coming flip flop. (Pretty fitting on the day of the first presidential debate am I right folks.) His ast/tov numbers are a little below Casper's and his d/r numbers make Casper look like Magic Johnson, so all things considered he's gotta be lower. The sample sizes are still small enough for some movement, but I expect Casper to be the better player long term. . 7. Anthony Davis - LR #10Davis' grueling climb to league average scoring efficiency continues while his d/r numbers continue to slightly slip. For someone who shoots as much as he does though that's a great trade, plus he still leads all rookies in blk/36 and is third in reb/36. His ceiling is the highest of anyone in the class, but it's gonna take some luck and some work to get there. . 8. Tyler Zeller- LR #9One of several rookies who hit the wall efficiency wise, but he's maintaining his not quite execrable blocking so he stays up. . 9. Draymond Green - LR unrankedPubic Enemy #1's box score numbers are a lot like JaMychal's, but he's two inches shorter and a significantly worse shot blocker, so his big man prospects are much darker. He is shooting the three ball so playing at SF is plausible, but his two ball has to come way way up for it to be tenable. . 10. John Henson- LR #8He's still a d/r big, his d/r numbers just slipped a little. He'll be fine. . previously ranked: Bradley Beal and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, both of whom saw major shooting slumps. Beal will be a stud someday, as expected he just isn't getting enough burn. MKG who knows, could be the next Matthew Lockhart or the next Andrew Wiggins.

day 90. 1. Damian Lillard - LR #1Another update, another Dame #1. As predicted his percentages have kicked up a notch, making his lead even more obvious, and his 3PR suggests he should even kick up a little higher. Playing as a #1 option PG in an outside offense he's a cinch to hit 30 a game. He's got the defense. His handling is not good but that's what TC/SC/RC are for. Clear ROY. . 2. John Jenkins - LR #2Speaking of poor handling, woof. Scoring has dipped a bit but it's still a big plus. He's really not close to #1, but when literally no one else in the class is even a good scorer, being a plus scorer is enough for the #2 with ease. . 3. Casper Ware - LR #4His %s still look bad but they're still gonna come way up, and he's still got the great ast/tov ratio. Still can't defend or rebound, but again in this class these skills are enough to have him this high. . 4. JaMychal Green - LR #5He's a top three d/r guy and his scoring is clearly the best of those three, plus it's built on an elite jump shot so his chances of being a legitimate scoring option are very good. . 5. Khris Middleton - LR #3As expected Khris ducked under league average efficiency, but I still like him a lot as a prospect going forward. . 6. Anthony Davis - LR #7Still hovering just below league average efficiency, but widening his lead as the best d/r man. Like JaMychal he'll need a lot of work for his scoring to be a plus rather than a minus though. . 7. John Henson- LR #10Johnny's numbers actually got worse, but he climbs the ladder because everyone else's numbers got way worse. . 8. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist - LR unrankedMKG makes it back to the ladder with a big surge in scoring efficiency. Unfortunately that still leaves him below average even for a big man, so he's got plenty of work to do. If he hits a couple home run three point TCs he's got a chance to be a star, but the more likely outcome is a poor man's Ron Artest / destitute man's Josh Smith type player. . 9. Kent Bazemore - LR unrankedA newcomer to the ladder, Kent's %s are ugly but his ratio is good. I see him as a worse version of John Jenkins going forward, which isn't great but isn't terrible. Undersized, good scorer, good rebounder, iffy defender. C shown potential might worry some GMs but it literally means nothing, it could correspond to every hidden potential from 0 to 100. . 10. Draymond Green - LR #9It's a toss up between Green and Zeller as offense first bigs who aren't doing that great on offense. I went with Green this time for the threes and assists, but I could just as easily have gone Zeller for the boards and "defense", and I'm not gonna agonize over the #10 spot. previously ranked: Marquis Teague flopped his way right off the ladder, going from 48/80/50 to 44/81/40 Tyler Zeller as mentioned is slacking on the offensive end and still woeful at defense

Your Casper Ware boner is strange. I don't know how you can look at his numbers, even using per 36, and say that he's better than Middleton.

Your Casper Ware boner is strange. I don't know how you can look at his numbers, even using per 36, and say that he's better than Middleton. it's all about regression with those two. Ware's 3PR says he's really a 1.07 pts/tsa guy, which is good for a point guard, Middleton's says he's 1.02, which is bad for a wing. Middleton also had a very bad preseason, lending further credence to the idea he's punching above his true talent level weight.

Still really happy with John Henson. Also, have no idea how Davis is that low. His scoring is poor and he shoots a lot. Like I said way back in preseason all he really needs is +16 to Inside Scoring and he'll be fine. Until then he's worse for a team than Henson is, but I have him higher on the ladder because he has an easy path to being the two way big that Henson will never be.

Well, if I know yawn, you can rest assured that that +16 into his Inside Scoring is only a matter of time.

. 1. Damian Lillard - LR #1Wire to wire, never seriously challenged, no doubt ROY. . 2. John Jenkins - LR #His %s continued to slip as the year went on, but he's already a plus scorer which in this class makes him the clear #2. . 3. Khris Middleton - LR #5He's bounced around the top five and his %s probably are unsustainably high for him right now, but he's got time to grow. He's just pretty good at everything, not great at anything. . 4. Anthony Davis - LR #6The Brow didn't really get any better but everyone else got way worse so here he is. He's a very good d/r man, his scoring isn't good but it isn't THAT bad. There's not a big gap between him and Khris. . 5. Marquis Teague - LR unrankedI really expected Casper to ghost Teague by the end of the year but he never got his act together. Teague's %s are bad and his ratio doesn't suggest any regression upwards, his rebounding is unbelievably terrible, he doesn't appear to play defense. However, his ast/tov is excellent and he's got very good scoring volume, suggesting he can take a lot of camps in Inside Scoring. There's a big gap between him and AD. . 6. Kent Bazemore - LR #9Ratio suggests his %s should be right around John Jenkins', but even if they were there's a big gap in defense and volume. That being said, his turnovers are under control and he's a good rebounder, so Kenny B has a decent chance of being a solid guy down the line. . 7. Eddie Baly - LR unrankedIt's a very small sample but if you add it onto his preseason Eddie has put up fair to middling numbers across the board. This means he needs work across the board but everyone else who had been above him really just fell apart down the stretch. . 8. JaMychal Green - LR #4He shoots too much to be a d/r guy and he doesn't d/r well enough to tolerate his currently poor percentages. It's going to take a lot of Inside Scoring investment to make him useful but there's enough of a base here to work from, especially the elite Jump Shot. . 9. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist - LR #8MKG probably has the highest Shot Blocking of any player in the class, and he needs it to be even replacement level. He's a little small and bad at rebounding to slide to PF, but I don't know if he can increase his scoring enough to be salvageable at SF. It's an interesing spot for the Fighting Ralshermans, and interesting is better than terrible across the board. . 10. John Henson- LR #7He's a d/r guy. . all players previously on the list: Albie Friedman, Andre Cowens - didn't play Arnett Moultrie - shoots too much, horrible efficiency, terrible shot blocker: quality tanking big Bradley Beal - tbd Casper Ware - I still think he'll be good but too hard to justify with his current %s Draymond Green - I don't buy his 3P% at all, his defense is just painful Jared Sullinger - could still turn into a decent scorer, but his defense makes Draymond look like Ewing Tyler Zeller - also a bad defender, started the season as a good scorer and is now below average so...
