Strengths:
Good athlete that can really score down low and finish on the break. Gooden has a nice post-game and good touch around the rim. His shooting stroke isn’t terribly pretty, but it gets the job done out to seventeen feet. Will shoot at good percentage when he goes to the free throw line. Does a great job of getting and maintaining position down low on post ups and for offensive rebounds. He is a very good rebounder that plays with a lot of intensity and boxes out well, he can go and get boards that are out of his area. On defense, he Is a solid positional defender in terms of staying in front of his man and not giving up much space to create.
Weaknesses:
Has good size, strength, and skills, but those assets don’t always translate into consistency. Gooden isn’t overly explosive; he may struggle to score and defend against length. Handles the ball relatively well for a post player, but is a bit turnover prone. On defense, he can block some shots when on the ball, but won’t get too many blocks when coming over from the weakside.
