 Caron Butler 22 SF 6'7 228 Connecticut
B B- C B- B- B  Strengths:
Butler has the ability to become one of the better two-way wings in the league and is the most complete wing in this draft. Defensively, Butler’s size, strength and quickness make him a tough matchup for most small forwards. He denies dribble penetration very well and ball handlers need to be careful with their dribble around Butler, as he has quick hands for steals. He’s a good rebounder thanks to his high basketball IQ and long arms. On offense, Butler has a developed floor game where he can score in the post, off the dribble or beyond the arc. He has a very quick first step that enables him to penetrate to the basket with ease. He has no problem creating offense for himself and his good passing gives him the ability to facilitate his team’s offense. Weaknesses:
Butler needs to shore up his ball handling, turnovers were a bit of an issue. He isn’t much of a three-point threat unless his feet are set. Defensively, he’s good at shutting down his man, but not the type of defender to put up incredibly gaudy stats. |
