Strengths:
Good size and athletic ability for a big. He’s quick off the floor when making plays at the rim and can effectively score in the paint with his soft touch. He has a decent looking shooting stroke when he goes to the free throw line. Giles really excels on the glass, he’s very competitive, quick to the ball and boards outside of his area. He follows misses with aggression and can grab boards in traffic. Giles is not a natural anchor or rim protector on defense, but is long and agile enough that he should be able to block a decent amount of shots. He anticipates well and has the agility to get out into passing lanes.
Weaknesses:
Giles isn’t overly skilled and is still a work in progress on offense, he gets by mostly on his physical tools and athleticism. He lacks advanced moves and footwork in the post, and can only make plays from 15 feet and in. He has nice instincts and upside on defense, but should have a more consistent impact. He needs to become more physical as a post defender.
