We may discuss breaking down into type of sport and/or disqualifying certain movies as not being sports movie enough. And... GO! |

some thoughts after going through the list
whoever put every 30 for 30 doc in there, stop. just stop.
movies should count as sports movie only if they revolve around sports. good litmus test: does the film climax on a sporting event?
movies that revolve around martial arts outside of an actual competition (e.g. drunken master) don't count.
there are a million terrible sports movies.

I like movies about fake sports but not movies about real sports. So hockey movies More like rollerball or baseketball. There are others but I can't think of them currently. If we consider any activity shown on ESPN then Rounders is easily #1. Also dodgeball, brink (yes, the Disney original), and talladega nights are up there. I don't give a fuck about dramatic sports moves about self redemption or repairing a relationship with a parent/grandparent. |
