1. The Celtics dynasty is over. What are you final thoughts on it? How does it compare to other dynasties? Do you have a message for dump?
Heebs: This was Dump's best job as a GM by far. He lucked into Jimmy for sure, but he made some savvy trades to build a team around him and Bird. I don't like the way it ended with Jimmy testing free agency and Franchise retiring. It seems like the lights went out on Bird. Hopefully he find a good home.
Eric: Dump was dealt four aces and has made the most of it. Unless he blows it up there's no reason to think the dynasty is over, he's got the inside track on Jackson (32), he's still got Bird (28), he's got good bigs, another two years of elite status isn't out of the question. He obviously needs a quality point guard to be a serious contender especially when at least two of the top five teams in the league are in his division, but it's not like Franchise was elite anymore anyway.
Majic: it was too long and he got extremely lucky. Both in terms of putting the team together and the teams he went up against. But all in all Dump put himself in position to get Bird and sign the players he needed. I give him full credit and it appears its the best Dynasty in 4.0 top to bottom. My final message to dump is dont trade Bird to Fason. thank you
Odin: I, for one, am just glad it's over. While dump may still technically be able to win more titles he needs to secure another top tier pg first. I mean, there's plenty of those around but that just seems too easy, right dump?
2. Lebron to 2poor, Melo to Drew, Wade to ayyoe, Bosh to Fason. Who has the best career and why?
Heebs: Lebron will be the best player, Bosh will have the best career. Fason knows how to maximize a player's potential and I expect he'll win at least 2 rings with the Sixers.
Eric: LeBron. Having to play SF when Wade might be able to play PG isn't ideal, but he just has too much of an edge. He's starting at A inside for God's sake.
Majic: LeBron by a long shot. I just think he is so complete of a player that he will dominate from year 1, its scary to think about. He may not actually win the most titles but he will leave with the best overall career. Long shot projection, bosh has a very strong career and ends up with the most championships of this group
Odin: Yeah, definitely Lebron. Although I would love nothing more than for him to bust hard. Would be hilarious for everyone except 2poor.
3. 20s has been doing this commish thing for a good while. He's doing a pretty decent job, yeah?
Heebs: Awesome job. I don't have any complaints.
Eric: I'm very happy with the job 20s is doing. I think he gets a little too caught up in parsing the letter of the law sometimes, but he runs a clean shop, he gets things done on time. Doing a heckuva job 20s.
Majic: He has been great and added alot to the league that wasnt there before. Big proponent of him sticking around for as long as possible. Only negative I can think of is the time he bought an Xbox One a day after we all bought him one. so rude
Odin: superb job outside of announcing resignings for dudes like Chris Veen.
4. I am the most experienced GM without a title. What am I even doing with my sim-life?
Heebs: Having fun with a bunch of other dudes on the internet. I wouldn't sweat it. If I were giving you advice, which I guess I am, I'd say you should write down your 5 sim year plan and stick to it. Don't chase shiny baubles.
Eric: Just gotta keep plugging away, RNG will eventually swing in your favor.
Majic: That question requires an answer from someone above my pay grade. However, i think keeping your picks is a good place to start.
Odin: I just want to tell majic to go fuck himself, I'll trade my picks if I want.
5. Commish 20s took over the duty of creating the draftable players somewhat recently. How has he fared so far? What are you hoping to see change from the Eric regime?
Heebs: I've not noticed much of a difference other than the lack of blocking, which is not a bad thing. Like Eric's increase to TOs, the lack of blocking will bleed in over time and eventually be normal for sim league. I think the only way to make efficient, non-blocking bigs useful is to make blocking rare enough that not every big blocks 2.5+ shots. I'm all for that.
Eric: Nothing, the Eric regime was perfect in every way.
Majic: going to be honest and dont know too much about the creation process, however it appears to be more leveled players since 20s took over. I also really enjoy that 20s creates a hidden gem every year for someone to find (or not find). Adds a little intrigue to the second round of the draft.
Odin: it just feels right to have the commish making the players.
6. Soup said in shout recently that he would return once his players left the league. We're definitely holding him to that, right?
Heebs: I'll believe it when I see it. It would be great to have him back in the league, but at this point the players he created have gone through so many TCs that it wouldn't give him a competitive advantage. And that is too bad, because for as long as he's been on the sidelines, he could use a cheat code or two.
Eric: Soup says a lot of things.
Majic: I would welcome soup back with open arms. Always enjoyed having him around and think it would add another strong GM to the ranks once he comes back. so yes we should hold him to that.
Odin: I've never really understood why former commishes leave the league. poe did it, ian did it but then came back several times, now soup is doing it. idk
7. The last title the west won was many years ago with the most recent occurence of a new commish seeing his old team win. Where you(those) guys at? Has the west simply lost focus?
Heebs: There is a concentration of talent in the east for sure. There have been a couple of teams in the West that neither tank nor compete, and that is hurting the overall quality of that conference. Hopefully those GMs read this and internalize that being in the middle of the pack is not the objective of the league.
Eric: The East just has a monopoly on the best players. Look at the non-PF All-NBA: nine of twelve are in the East. Look at the top ten in Win Shares: only two are in the West. Some of this is luck: Ewing jumping in FA, Lee and Lue exploding, and so on, but I do think it's also that the East GMs have done better at identifying nascent talent.
Majic: Well when you run into a Dynasty it kills the chances of most teams in the league. in that Dynasty run you had the Blazers, Spurs, Rockets and Suns put together teams that in any other year could have won the title. Sometimes its all about timing, and the west has had terrible timing lately.
Odin: once again it is probably all majic's fault. maybe if he had traded for bender he'd have a chance this year.
8. The Nets look pretty legit. Do we have a new dynasty on our hands?
Heebs: No. They will have cap issues soon assuming they keep both AD and Shaq. Plus Lue will be a Laker in two seasons, so even if they do keep winning, the end is imminent.
Eric: No. Nique and Oladipo are both 32, Shaq's 31 if Mark Cuban even gets him back. Too late to start a dynasty now, and that Anthony Davis contract is a killer. I see them staying elite for another two years and then they'll have to rebuild around Lue.
Majic: it is scary to look at their roster and see all the mix of players on that team. Very solid group that Heebs has put together and definitely has the potential for a dynasty run. Heebs just has to hope that Wilkins and Dipo continue to play at a high level. If dipo falls off that contract could get brutal.
Odin: maybe like a decade ago if i hadn't been completely ignored about how great dipo is.
9. Let's be real, do we really need so many wings blocking as many shots as they do?
Heebs: I think the issue is that a lot of GMs are not yet true believers in blocking, so there is a concentration of shot blocking wings on good teams. If those players were spread more evenly, it wouldn't be as noticeable.
Eric:There probably always have been, just nobody cared. The Great Josh Smith comes to mind.
Majic: no probably not, but blocks have been exploited as a result of eric and his research. I am a big fan of the proposed changes on the position changes and caps etc.
Odin: since i wrote the question i think you knkow my answer
10. Assuming you already have your two front teeth, what would you like for Christmas?
Heebs: A constitutional amendment requiring a passing score on basic civic issues to be eligible to vote.
Eric: Some g-d d-mn playoff good luck. We all dodged a bullet when Fason didn't get LeBron/Wade but the window before the next 76ers juggernaut is still very small.
Majic: honestly? just a good time with some family and friends. Not really looking forward to Christmas personally but hoping i can spend some time with people i enjoy and relax on my days off
Odin: my draft picks. i would like my draft picks.
