First a big thanks to Fason for making this easier on me, For those looking for the spreedsheet of the players, here is the spreedsheet of players.
Here is a list of the profile players that will be the most focus in this preview.
A first look at the provile players it is a very interesting and deep list of prospects. Most interesting is that there are no true SGs listed and only 2 SFs that are SG eligible. This appears to be a draft that will be deep in PG and has a few very good and interesting bigs. Here is a deeper look at the profile players.
PGs
1) Markelle Fultz
B C+ B- B- C A
This is a draft deep of PG and he appears to be the best of the bunch with no real holes in his build. Only 19 years old and he is currently 6'4 and will be able to grow an inch to 6'5. Very good starting grades and a solid defensive starting grade as well.
2) Lonzo Ball
C B- A- B C+ A
The biggest concern here with Lonzo is the C inside scoring, you are not really sure if he will be a volume shooter. So you will need to invest some SC into that inside scoring to get it up to a B level. Outside of that everything else is ideal, A- handling already, C+ rebounding for a PG and he is 6'6. If you can get him into a decent volume of shots, he could become the best PG in this class.
3) Dennis Smith Jr
B- C+ B B- C- A
Dennis with his initial build reminds me of Gerald Henderson, I could see him developing into a player like him. Solid starting inside and outside scoring grades, B Handling and B- defense with a future of A potential. He is 6'2, so not a midget but does not have the size like Fultz and Ball.
4) Malik Monk
B- B C C+ C- A
Looking at the profile and starting grades, I think that Malik Monk is more destined to be a undersized SG. However, if he can play the PG position, you could have something here he is 6'4 and real good offensive starting grades, it will depend if his defense and handling can improve.
5) De'Aaron Fox
C+ C+ B B C A
Another big PG at 6'4, his offensive starting grades are not the most ideal but some good potential of growth at C+ C+. I really like his defense starting at B and rebounding at a C. If he has a good TC and love with SC in his scoring and handling, he could develop into a very good future PG.
6) Frank Ntilikina
C C+ B+ B C A
Another big PG, starting at 6'5 and with him being 19 can grow to 6'6. The inside scoring grade starting at C is a worry, other than that there is a lot to like on this profile. The biggest being in the profile it states that he is a PG that will block shots, steal and rebound. The biggest question is what will you get out of him on the offensive end and how that develops.
Wings
1) Jayson Tatum
B- B C- C+ C+ A
The offensive starting grades are very good and he is listed as a SF, so he is SG eligible. Should be able to rebound well at the SG position and in his profile it states that he will block shots and get some steals. So the potential is there for him to be a shot blocking wing.
2) OG Anunoby
B C+ C- B C+ A
He will not be SG eligible but another player listed in his profile that will block shots at the wing. Good size and offensive starting grades. His profile states that he will not be a passer, which if that is the reason for the lower C- handling, could mean that his turnovers might be lower than expected.
3A)Tyler Lydon
C+ B C- B- C+ B
In his profile he is listed as a PF but he is SF eligible, with him being 6'9, I think it is safe to assume that he will be moved to SF. He appears to be a shot blocker at the SF and the only concern with him from his profile is if he will become a volume shooter. A lot to like with the starting grades with scoring efficency.
3B) Jonathan Isaac
B C+ C- B- C+ A
Jonathan shares the 3rd rung on the ladder with Tyler as they are very similar. Players listed as PF that will most likely be moved to SF. Tyler is the better outside shooter and Jonathan is taller and appears to be the more athletic wing with much more upside. However, he also has a lower floor than Tyler and can be more of a Boom or Bust prospect.
5) Miles Bridges
B C+ C C+ B- A
He is a player that would be higher on the list if he was SG eligible but he is only 6'6 and desitined to play SF. The grades are pretty appealing at the start and there is some good room for future growth. From his profile it appears that he has a good jumping grade and should be able to block shots.
6) Josh Jackson
B C C+ B+ B- A
He is SG eligible, The biggest concern with this profile is the outside shooting starting grade at a C. You will need to invest SC into his outside grade but if that can grow, you can have something very special at the SG with that defense and rebounding.
Bigs
1) Harry Giles
B C- D+ B- B+ B
He is 19 years old and will be able to get up to 7'0 and 250 lb. I really like his offesenive starting grades, should be a solid FT shooter. If he had A potential, he would be the clear cut best big in this class but with that B, it makes you wonder how high is his ceiling.
2)Marques Bolden
B- D+ D B B- A
The outside scoring grade and profile seam to point that he will not be a good FT shooter which will cut into his scoring efficency. However, there is a lot to like with his defense and rebounding and potential. He has much higher upside than Giles at 1 but he has a much lower floor as well.
3)Bam Adebayo
B- D+ D+ B B B
Very similar starting grades to Bolden and the reason he is just under Bolden is because of the upside in his potential. From the write up on Bam, it appears he will be a monster on the offensive boards, which is a huge plus with his rebounding.
4) Jarrett Allen
C+ D+ D B B- A
19 years old big that will become 7'0 tall after the draft. Does not appear to be an offensive threat but appears to be a real good prospect for a d/r big that hopefully will not shoot too much. In recent drafts this player has been a little more rare to find and should probably look to be drafted towards the end of the lottery.
5) Ivan Rabb
B C- C- B- B+ B
The offensive grades and defensive grades are very well rounded. He doe snot have the upside of some of the others above him. Also from his profile it appears that he will not be a shot blocker unlike others ahead of him on the list.
6) Lauri Markkanen
B B- C- C+ C+ A
Very interesting grade set and will be interesting to see how he develops. The huge concern are the lower grades on the defense and rebounding but the good news is those are the grades that improve the most at the C position. This another huge boom or bust candidate in this class with these starting grades.
Here are the non profile players
On this list Terrance Ferguson really stands out, the lack of SG's on the profile, he is going to be a 6'8 SG with very attractive starting grades and high potential. He is one of the players from this list that could jump up into being a lottery pick.
