Found the template for this article I wrote a couple years ago and figured we were overdue for an updated version. h/t to Fason for helping to review the players and values.
For those of you who weren't here for the first one and haven't seen one of these before, I've copied the basic rules below.
[li]Big men all count as one category (for example, you can select both Tobi and KG)[/li]
[li]If you'd rather take someone not on the board, you can sub them for the $1 player in that category (no freebies)[/li]
[/ul]
Here are the major changes from the last version:
PG: Thompson and Magic remain top valued, Oscar dropped from $3 to $1, Khalid Reeves and Paul Westphal dropped out.
SG: Gary Bossert is the only remaining name from version 1, dropping from $4 to $1. Gervin, Drexler, Barry and Jordan dropped out. Bossert got the nod over Gervin due to his defense, which was probably undervalued in version 1.
SF: Stanley Robinson retains the top spot, everyone else dropped from the top 5. The other 4 were Charles Barkley, Julius Erving, Champ Godbolt and Larry Kenon.
Bigs: Holdovers are Bill Walton ($5 to $4), Emeka Okafor ($5 to $2), Greg Monroe ($4 to $3), Bob Lanier ($4 to $1) and Myles Turner ($1 to $4). Myles is the only holdover to increase in value, which is surprising but makes more sense when you consider that Myles was only in the league for about 4 IRL months when the original article was posted. Falling out of the list are Boogie Cousins, Catfish Cathasach, Moses Malone, Wilt Chamberlain, and Cliff T. Robinson.
