In this series the 76ers prety much dominated the series 3-1. The one loss was to the Bulls in chicago by a point. There is unfortuately for the Bulls not much of a chance in this match up. They do not have the depth or qualty at the top of the roster to be able to compete with the 76ers in this series.

This is a series split between the two teams, each winning a game at home and on the road vs each other. No offense to the Hornets but this is not your typical 2 vs 7 differential of teams. I think this series will play closer to a 3 vs 6 or a 4 vs 5 series. The Hornets are an interesting team with the trio of Detlef, Rudd and Carter, 3 very explosive offensive players and I don't see how the hawks will be able to match that over a 7 game series.

Unfortunately for the Cavs this is not a series that has been kind to them with the Knicks taking all 4 games. As mentioned on the podcast it is unfortunate for Shaun that he had Embid retire in the offseason as that would give him a glimmer of hope in this series vs the underwhelming bigs of the Knicks. Utlimately the trio of Jackson, Jones and Lee will prove to be too much for the Cavs and this series should result in a similar fashion to the regular season.

Looking at records you would think this would be more of a 3 vs 6 or 2 vs 7 match up with a 10 win disparity between the two teams. Looking at the regular season results they split the series with each team winning a game at home and on the road. Both of these teams were active on the trade market at the deadline. Pacers picked up Hal Greer and Nets picked up Battier and added some wing depth with OG. With that said, the bad news for the Pacers is Greer is out for the next 17 days. That injury is going to be costly for the Pacers as they will have to Payton Perkins vs Tyrone Lue.

A season split with home team winning all the games. As dicussed on the podcast the warriors team has come a bit out of nowhere but it is no secret on the chemistry of their team. They pound the glass pulling down an average of 60.6 boards a game (2nd best in the league). When you look at the 4 factors that is another metric that likes this Warriors team with the 4th best ratio. I think OKC will be able to steal a game or two from Taco but that will be about it in this series.

This is a series that the blazers won 3-1 while losing their last meeting at home. The blazers were very active in the trade market after having Hardaway retire on him in this past offseason. He first acquired Brent Price and then later shipped Price out for Harold Minor. The match ups in this series are interesting, the match up of Minor, Baylor and Arenas vs Lewis, Butcher and Floyd. I would give that edge to the Blazers but the bigs of the Rockets are better than what the Blazers will put out there. However, I feel the edge of the scoring leans towards the blazers.

Timberwolves took the season series 3 to 1. The biggest knock on the Timberwolves going into this match up was the depth of their bigs. With the Eddie Curry injury this really put them in a position of having Stephen Zimmerman step in and have to give rotation minutes. I also love the trade deadline acquistion for the kings of picking up Brent Price as that super sub at the 1-2-3.

The 76ers took the season series 3 to 1 with almost all the games coming in the first 1/2 of the season and only 1 game since the Nets made the acquisition of Battier, However that 1 game resulted in a 19 point home loss. Also, in all 4 games the 76ers had a healthy Elton Brand. The 76ers are a team that has depth upon depth on the wings and in their bigs and unfortuantely for the Nets the quality of the 76ers are just a bit better than what the Nets can put out there.

Knicks took all 3 of the games this year by an average of 12 points a game. The big match up in this game will be the big 3 of Lee, Jones and Jackson against Detlef, Carter and Rudd. I think that points to the favor of the Knicks mainly because of the lack of defense by Detlef. You also look at the bigs of Gasol and Gobert vs what the Knicks trot out there and that is to the favor of the Hornets. I just don't think that the bigs in this series are good enough yet to stop the Knicks.

This is a series split with the road team winning each game. The big match up in this series is going to be King James vs Bird. You go through the rest of the match ups and you have Dipo vs Chet, Deane vs Henderson, Mikan and Chanlder vs Woods and Benjamin. This is a very very even match up between the two teams but where I find a slight difference is going to be in the late season acquistion of Brent Price, I think this is a great move by 2poor that will prove to be the difference in this series.

This is a split where the home team has won each game in the series. The interesting match ups in this series are Sergey vs Baylor and Bender vs Miner. I feel that these are all almost a wash, you then look at PG and I think that is where this series is going to be detirimined and I think Arenas is just a much better player than McGuire. the only thing that could swing this in the Warriors favor is if the depleted bigs of the blazers cannot handle Dirk. I think they will do just enough though to have Portland advance.

On the regular season match up the Knicks have taken 3 of the 4 games in this series with the 76ers taking the last meeting in the series. This is finally where there is a team that can match the scoring of the knicks big 3. Ridnour, Theus and Havlicek should be able to keep up with the knicks production and the quality of bigs that the 76ers can put out there are just better than what the Knicks can put out there. You also add in the depth of Crowder, Middleton and Phegley as defensive stoppers and this just too much depth over a 7 game series.

This is a series split with each team getting a win at home and on the road. I don't think many teams can match up with the blazers top 3 but unfortunately for the Blazers this is one of the teams that can and I feel that the addition of Price will be added to that. The kings are a shot blocking machine and this is the best team to match up with the Blazers.

They have met twice on the season and the first time in KC the game was close and the 76ers pulled out a 9 point win and in game 2 the 76ers routed the Kings with Mikan putting up 18 shots on 33% shooting from the field. As good as I think the Kings have done to build their backcourt with Deane, Price and Dipo around King James. The bigs are were they still need some work, I think Mikan is a player that will feast on the cupcakes but will crumble under the heat of good competition. I think the Kings have enough to make this an interesting series but they are just not ready yet.
