Grandson of former 2.0 big man Salado Valarado, the talented big man is living proof that sometimes genetics skip a generation. As one of the better post players available in this years' draft, Valarado has spent the last 3 seasons fine honing his skills under Coach Hakeem Olajuwon Jr at the University of Houston. While many scouts have thrown around comparison's between Salado and Coach Olajuwon's former NBA great father, it's important to note that although defensively the two players are nearly identical, Valarado posseses more of a power game compared to Olajuwon's finesse. There's not much to knock about the Salado's game except that some have questioned whether at 21 the player has fully reached his potential. Regardless, the expectations from all are for the player to be selected very high in this next draft.

VALARADO TO MISS SPERRY DRAFT SUMMIT
June 25, 3046 - Houston Cougars big man Salado Valarado III will unfortunately have to miss the Sperry Draft Summit Series due to family reasons. Sources close to the big man would not elaborate on the situation, simply stating "Salado needs to be with his family at this time. We apologize to the scouts who were hoping to watch him play, but can guarantee he will be ready for summer ball and training camp." It remains to be seen how teams react and what impact, if any, this has on Valarado III's draft stock.
The seven footer was projected to go in the top half of the lottery by most draft experts. Duke power forward Carlos Boozer has accepted an invitation to take Valarado's place in the Summit.
