Western Conference: "At a glance, this conference seems not as good as the Eastern Conference. In fact, after an extensive review by an outside consultant, this conference seems not as good as the Eastern Conference."
Why this is an overreaction: "I don't know that's like your opinion man." - Less good western GM's.
Why this is not an overreaction: Correct answer.
Vancouver Grizzlies: "Fuck you JHB you idiot look how good Rafer Alston and Chris Kaman are haha you sorry POS."
Why this is an overreaction: It's fine. I'm fine. Everything is fine. I like Cornell Green. He's fine.
Why this is not an overreaction: Alston went +3 in scoring since last season and Kaman continues to somehow be a dominant shot-blocker. Melo is starting to play efficiently, Devonta Davis has come on, and Alonzo Mourning is dialing it back to his prime. This is a good team, and all signs point to them playing well this season.
Kansas City Kings: "LeBron James has become the best 4.0 PF in just 6 games at the position."
Why this is an overreaction: JHB hasn't even been around for all of 4.0 and wouldn't know a good player if it punched him in the face.
Why this is not an overreaction: LeBron James SF 6 39.2 36.0 11.0 5.3 1.3 5.0 1.8 .509 .821 .421
Houston Rockets: "This team is old and expiring, ENJOY IT WHILE IT LASTS WARD!"
Why this is an overreaction: Ward has 30mil in cap space heading in to what's probably the best FA in a long time. Shard is god-tier.
Why this is not an overreaction: Outside of Shard, all his starters are 33-34. This team is aging, even with mountains of cap space a good GM can strike out.
Utah Jazz: "How's that Chet Walker max feel now SPL? This is what you get for having nice things like Dunn and West!"
Why this is an overreaction: Chet Walker is bound to regress to the mean somewhat. He's never been this inefficient and after spiking last year, I doubt his turnover numbers continue to grow out of control.
Why this is not an overreaction: David West and Kris Dunn are really nice things. Both look extremely promising and although opposing GMs may taunt SPL for standing by David West while he doesn't block 5 shots a game, he is a solid young big. F*** the haters SPL. Team scoring bigs that block an acceptable number of shots.
Golden State Warriors: "I think Taco might be gay and trying to come out to us."
Why this is an overreaction: This is just a sim basketball league with people he doesn't know and he's making some phallic jokes.
Why this is not an overreaction: The guy just invested a lot of cash into Dick and has spent all offseason talking sucking some guy's cock.
Seattle Supersonics: "How is this a winning team? Is the west that bad?"
Why this is an overreaction: His bigs are still solid, Gerald Wallace is a stock trader, Hughes is scoring in bunches, and Prince is still Prince. There are pieces here. Unfortunately I don't know how true that will be the next time Delap can make his own pick.
Why this is not an overreaction: They have a razor thin point differential, Prince and Hughes turn it over a ton, Hughes likely can't keep this level of efficiency up, and if either of his backcourt players miss any time they lose half their offense. Not a lot of margin for error for the Sonics this year.
Minnesota Timberwolves: "Wait this is the same team as last year but I like them so much less now."
Why this is an overreaction: There's some guys that are not playing to the level they did last year and they could probably upgrade the big rotation just by moving some minutes around. They played a tough sim 1 schedule, with the likely easiest matchup being the Lakers.
Why this is not an overreaction: Right now they're .500 with a negative point differential in an average conference. They were really good last year. Hopefully it changes.
Los Angeles Lakers: "Ian deserves more criticism for stubbornly staying in a tank and then not being good at it."
Why this is an overreaction: I don't think many people anticipated Chauncey's stat line now after seeing his summit and TC. He's the biggest driver in their improvement.
Why this is not an overreaction: It's not. Ian always says he's choosing to tank. But choosing to tank when you have too much talent is bad and he deserves criticism.
Los Angeles Clippers: "TJ Ford is the worst point guard for the gradeset perhaps ever."
Why this is an overreaction: Perhaps something could be done to salvage him as a player considering his D and scoring ability?
Why this is an overreaction: Why would anyone want a PG who turns it over this much?
San Antonio Spurs: "Bruns made a really good deal getting Antawn Jamison for not a whole lot. Is he going to end up giving some of that value away because of our restrictive position eligibility rules born because GMs can't have nice things without cheesing the shit out of them?"
Why this is an overreaction: Cheesing is bad and these rules are good for the league.
Why this is not an overreaction: We don't see many swaps of elite players in the league. Both Marvin and Antawn are really good wing players but I don't see people lining up to swap a SG eligible player for one of them.
Los Angeles Clippers: "What the hell is going on here?"
Why this is an overreaction: I'm not sure what to make of this team. They're missing picks but didn't seem to aggressively pursue talent over the offseason. It wasn't good in sim 1 and they seem to be starting a tanking PG but they have some good players that may ruin a tank.
Why this is not an overreaction: They just traded for Harold Miner. Confusion seems an appropriate response.
Phoenix Suns: "Zarko is overrated. "
Why this is an overreaction: It's not lmbo. Less than 10 rebounds a game lmbo. 7 shots a game at 32.7% lmbo. Blocks less than half as many shots as Anthony Davis lmbo. Gets so many fewer buckets than Ike Diogu lmbo.
Why this is not an overreaction: See above.
Portland Trailblazers: "Future owners of #1 odds."
Why this is an overreaction: There's a lot of games left to be played. Plenty of time for moves to happen.
Why this is not an overreaction: This team is probably the most devoid of talent in the league. Good job Majic. De'Aaron Fox and Ben Simmons is a much better combo than anything he has.
Oklahoma City Thunder: "Good thing you traded White Chocolate before the season......OH WAIT."
Why this is an overreaction: People know this is a good player and he still has trade value.
Why this is not an overreaction: Most teams are pretty set at PG now and will likely want to give less until they see a rebound from him, one which would likely cost his team valuable standings in the great tank arms race.
