1. 76ers
Michael Jordan
Age: 21
Height: 6'6''
Weight: 195
Position: SG
School: UNC
B B- C+ B C A
I'll give my first piece of good advice, take Michael Jordan when he's available. The 76ers regardless of GM seem to be very adept at tanking, just like their real life counterparts who have mastered drafting injured players. Whoever manages to snag the #1 pick is the champion of tanking. This is a loaded draft with half the league trying to lose at all costs. Jordan is gonna be a superstar, the only questions are is he gonna put up 25 or 30 PPG or will he become PG eligible?
2. Suns
Hakeem Olajuwon
Age: 21
Height: 7'0''
Weight: 255
Position: C
School: Houston
B D+ D+ B B+ A
The draft as mentioned before is deep, but it also has a clearly defined top. Ankly can pair Benard King of Phoenix with another real life Hall of Famer. Bigs do have more potential for busting because they have to make a higher grade jump but the Dream is as close as a shoe in as found in TMBSL. The only discouraging starting grade is Hakeem's D+ outside, a possible thorn in the side of his FG%. He should be putting up 25/12/3 in just a couple of seasons.
3. Magic
Charles Barkley
Age: 21
Height: 6'6''
Weight: 252
Position: SF/PF
School: Auburn
B C C+ B- B+ A
Another dreamy SF/PF, a major influx in TMBSL. Barkely projects to be as skilled as his HoF 2.0 twin. MJ already has Juwan Howard at PF, but Charles should slide quite seamlessly to SF. We've seen in this league SF's do not need an outside shot to be successful, ie Larry Kennon. A bump in outside from TC would be optimal. The C+ handles are exciting too Sir Charles is a potential 25/5/11.
4. T-Wolves
Sam Bowie
Age: 22
Height: 7'1''
Weight: 245
Position: C
School: Kentucky
B+ C- C- B+ B B
It's highly doubtful Ian will be picking in this #4 spot now that his blatant disregard for the rules he so often enforces has been unveiled. Glass knee's don't exist in TMBSL, and Sam Bowie could be the Cinderella the Trailblazers had hope for when drafting Bowie (Not the first C with leg problems they took with a top 2 pick). Bowie's potential will be low, but he's only +4 from being elite in every big man category with C- outside. With a GM who pumps points into him he's guaranteed to be very good.
5. Bullets
John Stockton
Age: 22
Height: 6'1''
Weight: 170
Position: PG
School: Gonzaga
C+ B- B+ B D+ B
Grabbing a real life HoFer at 1.5 isn't bad at all considering last years 1.5 Otis Birdsong PG 6'3'' 190 22 B- C+ C C+ D A, ouch. Stockton is a future assists leader. His scoring grades are pretty solid too, with a slight bump in TC and some points pumped in Stockton will be at worst above average. He'll probably never be a consist 25 PPG scorer but he will put up 18/11 night in night out with solid defense.
6. Kings
Sam Perkins
Age: 22
Height: 6'9''
Weight: 235
Position: PF
School: UNC
B- B- D+ B- B- B
A Bankz special on steroids. Big Smooth is a candidate for a +1 at SF with that high outside shooting. Perkins will be a scorer regardless of TC, an interesting prospect early in his career to come off the bench as a third big and provide an offensive boost much like Austin Carr, and Walter Davis but at the SF/PF position. That situation is out the door barring a big trade on draft day, Perkins will start and be a scoring option on a tanking Kings team who has another whopping four picks this draft, and three picks in the next two years each. From 3003 to 3006 the Pelicans/Kings own 15 picks.
7. Cavs
Otis Thorpe
Age: 22
Height: 6'9''
Weight: 230
Position: PF
School: Providence
B C- C- B B+ C
Thorpe is actually +2 over Hakeem (Same in big man categories). Thorpe has low potential but that's won't deter H/T. Potential is fickle to begin with, look at Bernard King last years 1.1, had C potential but still had a solid TC, is putting up 35 PPG and got a bump in potential. Thorpe may not be the prospect of King but he should have a successful TMBSL career.
8. Raptors
Kevin Willis
Age: 22
Height: 7'0''
Weight: 220
Position: PF
School: Michigan State
C+ D+ D B B A
Could flip with Thorpe pretty easily, depends on what type of player the GM is looking for on his team. Willis could get a +1 at C. He will be in the top 10 in TMBSL in blocks along with averaging 10+ rebounds per game. He may not be a scoring threat, but it all depends on his first TC. Would have B- inside if it was a weaker class, it sure isn't though a great get at 8.
9. Warriors
Champ Godbolt
19
7'3"
275
C
Holy Cross
C- B- D B C A
Weird player here. Champ can get an inch bump to his already monstrous 7'3, 275 frame. He has B- outside and C- inside, I don't know what to make of those grades, cannot recall anyone like this before. He should pull down boards because of his sheer size, and if his defense can improve he'll be a very good player. He could completely bust too, Champ is a wildcard. He's a clear Odin special, that may not be the right way to describe him though, Godbolt is more like an Odin experiment.
10. Knicks
Dick Mumma
21
6'11"
254
C/PF
Penn St
B D- D B B C
There are some very good big men in this draft. Mumma at worst will be a decent 3rd big. The D- outside may be a death sentence to 11 PPG on 40% from the field. Still s very good get for 1.10.
11. Heat
Michael Cage
23
6'9''
229
C/PF
San Diego State
B- C- C- C+ B B
More big men! GM's are all tanking and going BPA, and this is the draft of the big man. If you need one trade for a pick in this draft, there's still plenty left. 1.6 last year? James Edwards C 7'0'' 225 20 C D+ D B- B A.
12. Sonics
Jerome Kersey
22
6'7''
215
SF
Longwood
B C C- C+ C+ A
Kersey would have been a top 5 pick last year, falling to the end of the lotto now. He has one very good grade with his B inside, and is average everywhere else. The bonus for tankers is that this draft is not only top heavy with Stockton/Jordan/Hakeem/Bowie, it's deep too. There's a good chance Kersey goes higher but there's so much depth someone is gonna fall.
13. Kings (Thunder)
Alvin Robertson
Age: 22
Height: 6'3''
Weight: 185
Position: SG/PG
School: Arkansas
C+ C+ B B C B
There are five players that could be taken here. Robertson should be competent on the offensive end along with being a promising passer and favorable defender. Don't trade your pick in this draft even if you're contending, gonna have solid players well into the 20's. This is the second of five picks for the Kings, they may very well get 5 solid players from this draft. Too bad his son isn't as skilled, maybe UO would of had a chance against the flying Kaminsky's
