Analysis
1. Michael Jordan SG 6'6" 195 21 B B- C+ B C A 100
- Clearly 1.1. As I mentioned in Soup's rt, not only does he have no weakness but he only has strengths. This is the best looking prospect that I can remember seeing in a long time. The software will software but it would be really difficult for this man to bust. He will have a very high potential and should be an MVP candidate for years to come from either the SG or PG positions.
2. Charles Barkley SF/PF 6'6" 252 21 B C C+ B- B+ A 99
- This is where the difference of opinions start. Would Dream or Bowie be a bad pick here? No not at all. I have Barkley at #2 because of his flexibility. As of right now he could play the SF or the PF. Time will tell if that's actually an option but that holds a lot of value down the road in trades/FA. I know I've wished plenty of times that Truck could play either SG or PF so I could have some freedom to trade for or sign a SF that also can't play SG or PF.
3. Hakeem Olajuwon C 7'0" 255 21 B D+ D+ B B+ A 98
- I have both Dream and Bowie rated as 98's because I think they're tied for this spot. I give Hakeem the honor of claiming the #3 title because of his potential and name. I'm not as worried about the D+ outside as some gm's are. Players have proven in the past that it can be played with, especially in an inside offense. Elmore Smith is averaging over 20ppg for me as the 3rd option with these same scoring grades. Bowie is the safer pick but I think Hakeem will be the better player. Also, if he get's all of his +5 lbs he'll be 280. Me gusta.
4. Sam Bowie C 7'1" 245 21 B+ C- C- B+ B B 98
- Like I said, I have him tied with Hakeem grade wise. He has the best rookie grades the league has seen. Bowie will obviously be an immediate impact player. Even if he has a low potential if his GM commits to giving him upgrades he can end up at A- C- C- A- B+ C which is a borderline all-star level player. If his potential is anywhere close to the three guys ahead of him he could end up as the best player in the draft.
5. Sam Perkins PF 6'9" 235 22 B- B- D+ B- B- B 94
- This is where the 2nd tier of players starts. I have Sam and Stockton rated at 94's because they are just as equal as Dream and Bowie are to each other. I have Perkins ahead of Stockton because of his flexibility like Barkley. It all depends on how he develops but it's very realistic that Sam could +1 at SF and dominate there like 2.0. Even if he is no change it's still a win.
6. John Stockton PG 6'1" 170 22 C+ B- B+ B D+ B 94
- I love these grades for Stockton. He's almost unbustable even if he has a low potential or the software doesn't like him. If his owner pumps a few points into scoring, defense, and handles: boom he's a starting PG.
7. Kevin Willis PF 7'0" 220 22 C+ D+ D B B A 90
- This is where another tier starts. Willis looks like a very promising defensive big. He's a very nice 7'0 at PF but only 220 lbs so it would be difficult for him to play center unfortunately but his B B defense and rebounding are awesome. His C+ inside isn't a total waste since he has A potential. If he can develop that into B or B+ while growing his already excellent defense and rebounding he could be a steal. I don't think anyone would be surprised if Willis eventually averages 12+ boards and 3+ blocks every season.
8. Terence Stansbury SG 6'5" 170 22 C+ B C B C- B 89
- C+ B C B C- B is a very strong starting grade set for a SG. If he had A potential he'd be in the Stockton/Perkins tier with possibly a slight edge over them. His strengths are the two most important ratings for a SG: outside and defense. He has no weakness. Stansbury would be a nice pick for someone who missed out on the top 4.
9. Alvin Robertson SG/PG 6'3" 185 22 C+ C+ B B C B 89
- I like Alvin a lot. Probably more than the average TMBSL'er. He has excellent PG grades with the size to play SG. The rating that could slip by unnoticed is his C rebounding. If he's created as a PG his strength will have to be pretty darn high. Big Robertson fan.
10. Jerome Kersey SF 6'7" 215 22 B C C- C+ C+ A 87
- Marques Johnson lite. The C outside isn't very popular in TMBSL but it's not such a big deal with a high inside rating like Kersey has. He'll be able to score, can he develop his defense? That will be the big question for Kersey.
11. Mel Turpin C 6'11" 245 23 B- C D+ B- B- A 87
- Turpin could be a huge flop or a very surprising contributor. His grades are set up very even and nice. He has good size and good potential. His C outside is a big reason why he's on the big board. If he can get that inside to B+ and the defense to A- then Turpin could be a very nice player.
12. Tony Campbell SF 6'7" 215 22 C+ C+ C B C A 86
- Campbell looks like a pure defensive stopper. I don't foresee him to ever be a big time scorer. C+ C+ at SF scares me more than it would at SG and PG because you can focus on developing just the outside scoring at those positions. At SF you would need to develop inside and outside. Most people would probably have him a little higher but I think he's riskier than he seems at first glance. That defense is a great asset to have though.
13. Champ Godbolt C 7'3" 275 19 C- B- D B C A 86
- This is another guy that I'm not as high on as other people are. Obviously he's a very interesting player who could balloon up to 7'4" 310. But other than that I don't see a whole lot. The C- outside guarantees you he won't do anything offensive. I don't expect that B- outside to improve at all. Even if it did he still wouldn't score at all. The B defense is great but the C rebounding will prohibit him from being a huge contributor. He'll be a solid 3rd big but I would be surprised if he develops into anything more than that.
14. Lancaster Gordon PG/SG 6'3" 185 22 B- C+ B- C+ D+ B 83
- This is one of those guys that you pick and hope he blows up. All of his grades are low enough that you need them to improve for him to be effective but high enough for them to not be weaknesses as a pre-draft rookie. The B- inside is very intriguing as a PG. If the software likes him then he could be one of those B+ B+ B+ B+ C- type of guys that dominates.
15. Otis Thorpe PF 6'9" 230 22 B C- C- B B+ C 82
- Mr. Thorpe will be an immediate contributor to a team but he already kind of sucks. If he doesn't improve at all he'll be an LLE player. I don't like him.
