The former AAC freshman of the year will only look better playing in the Big 12 against inferior competition. Offensively, Dedric has good post fundamentals but is limited due to his poor strength and quickness. He is an average jump shooter, but has developed range out beyond the arc. His Team Penny/AAU background is evident when it comes to his passing. He doesn't move the ball and often gets stripped trying to drive the ball against quicker perimeter players. His length and anticipation will provide many penii in his buttocks: probably more steals than blocks. He is an adept rebounder on both the offensive and defensive end, who gets the most out of his limited athleticism.
