Antonio Blakeney 21 SG 6'4" 175 LSU B B- C- C+ C- B A fast-twitch athlete with elite quickness and jumping ability, Blakeney has not lived up to his McDonald's All-American status in Baton Rouge. A good finisher at the bucket, Antonio needs to be more aggressive with the ball in his hands. That is especially true because he is an inconsistent jump shooter. He has range to the TMBSL 3-pt line. Blakeney almost never creates any offense for teammates, as his 5.5% assist percentage ranked as the second lowest rate in the country among shooting guard prospects. Defensively Blakeney relies too much on his natural athletic skills and displays poor fundamentals. He is not aggressive on the defensive boards, often leaking out for potential quick transition buckets at the rim. Scouts are not sure whether his lack of development at LSU is a result of poor coaching or lack of potential. With his athletic gifts, the right GM could mold him into a star.
