We're not going to bury the lede: Rod excels on the defensive end, especially as a shot blocker. He is a strong, quick guard with the length to play forward for stretches. His jump shot is broke. He is a purely average free throw shooter and doesn't have range beyond the three point line. With his potential and defensive abilities, scouts believe a GM willing to pump points into his outside shot could make Rod a star.
