At this point I think I trust 20s and eric as civs. They were what I should have been as an early voter on a confirmed mafia on day 1. If I were a bodyguard I'd probably protect eric. I think he might be trying to signal that he is a cop without actually saying it. I think TimPig's vote for BK as the tide turned against SPL was suspect. That vote tied it up (I realize the exact same argument can be made against me, which I think is a good argument except for how dumb I'd have to be to so brazenly save my teammate). I think SPL's meaningless vote for TimPig to try to give him cover as non mafia (i.e., TimPig can argue he is not mafia because known mafia SPL voted for him) adds suspicion. I also think Delap's no vote, when an SPL vote with the masses, could have sealed SPL's fate. I'm on TimPig for now. I was the third of what I think were 5 votes against BK last round. My reasoning may have been stupid, but again, there isn't really much reasoning in round one. I stuck with it throughout. |

You are making a mistake. I am the inspector.
The rationale for stating this is that I want to survive.
The player I inspected on day one is still playing and is a vanilla civ. He is voting for me. I will not say who it is because if I am killed and confirmed to be the inspector he will be killed next.
There are three possible plays here from my perspective. Let me try to break them down.
First, I am the inspector as I say and want to avoid the town killing me. While I will likely die from mafia killing me tonight, there is a chance that the bodyguard protects me and we get one more night of investigation. Obviously a mafia could contradict my statement. I expect that to happen.
Second, I am a mafia and don't want the town to kill me. In this case I expect to be inspected by the real inspector and killed in day 3 once I am confirmed. This would be a last ditch attempt to live another round. In this case I don't expect the cop to reveal himself.
Third, I am a vanilla civ and know that the town killing me would be a mistake and this is my last chance to save us from that. I expect the real inspector would investigate me and confirm that I am a civilian. The obvious downsides to this are that the real investigator reveals himself or he is randomly lynched. In this case I don't expect the cop to reveal himself unless he is on the block too.
I am taxing out and won't be able to post until I land in DC around 9:45 Eastern.

If he isn't the real cop and there is a real one, don't waste your night investigating him. Anyone who falsely claims to be the cop should get killed, regardless of side. If a civ fakes being the cop to save themself, they are doing their team a disservice and being a self important jerk.

Since Heebs has come out as the cop, in the meantime I will change my vote to what I voted round 1 since I still think Billy's inability to keep up with the thread due to his job makes him a liability.
While I am changing my vote, can I at least please request that you stop writing a novel anytime you make a move Heebs, everyone you are playing with isn't stupid. Stop mansplaining to me.

As I understand this game the point is to avoid dying if you are a civilian. This was my last ditch effort. I tried to leave breadcrumbs for a real cop to realize I was no mafia as I wouldn't have gone through all the painstaking detail of why a person could fake being a cop and state twice, very clearly, that the real cop would investigate me and not reveal themselves.
