1. LeBron James (Age: 26)
3048 Stats - 36/8/5 with 2spg and 3bpg. 3048 shooting splits - 51/90/43
3049 Salary - $16,250,000 (3 years remaining)
LeBron James nickname is the King and it should be for a reason. He is the best player in the league hands down and his max contract is fraction of what he would get paid in the open, unregulated market. He is approaching the end of his first max deal (3 years remaining) and will certainly garner another max. Obviously, the king doesn’t have any potential left. Whatever.
2. Markelle Fultz (Age: 25)
3048 Stats - 29/7/5 with 3spg and 2bpg. 3048 shooting splits - 48/92/41
3049 Salary - $15,000,000 (4 years remaining)
Markelle Fultz is arguably the best two-way guard in the TMBSL and is currently moving into year 3 of a supermax contract. To say that this contract is “worth it” is a massive understatement. At this point in his career, he doesn’t have to play PG but is PG eligible which is very nice moving forward. His doesn’t appear to have any more potential but it doesn’t really matter.
3. Kris Dunn (Age: 27)
3048 Stats - 28/6/12 with 3spg. 3048 shooting splits - 47/94/43
3049 Salary - $13,750,000 (5 years remaining)
Kris Dunn is one of the best players in the league. His defense is top notch and his scoring splits are unbelievable. On this list that is PG heavy, he averages the most out of any of them. On top of that, he is locked up for another 5 years, which makes him more valuable on the trade market in my opinion. Even though SPL never likes his team, Dunn is someone he won’t forget for years to come.
4. Chauncey Billups (Age: 25)
3048 Stats - 28/6/10 with 2spg. 3048 shooting splits - 50/92/40
3049 Salary - $12,500,000 (6 or 7 years remaining)
Chauncey is very similar to Lonzo Ball except shorter, younger, shoots a higher percentage, and is slightly cheaper - that’s why I have him rated higher. He is on the verge of getting his first max contract, which is completely justified twice over. It is imperative that Ian sign him or he will be set back for years to come.
5. Tracy McGrady (Age: 23)
3048 Stats - 32/9/4 with 1spg and 1bpg. 3048 shooting splits - 47/85/37
3049 Salary - $12,500,000 (6 years remaining)
T-Mac just resigned with the Raptors, which solidifies them as having the best backcourt in TMBSL. T-Mac finally came into his own last year with his best year statistically. He still has B potential so hopefully his 3pt% comes up a little bit and he will be a nightmare for years to come.
6. Luke Ridnour (Age: 29)
3048 Stats - 30/4/11 with 2spg. 3048 shooting splits - 50/93/46
3049 Salary - $17,500,000 (2 years remaining)
Ridnour is the oldest guy on this list but he is too good to keep off. Everyone knows that PGs drive good teams in TBMSL and he is the best in the league at the moment. He was tied for the mot win shares in the league and is significantly younger than Chris Paul (whom he tied). The biggest issue is that he only has two years remaining on his contract and that’s what puts him lower on this list.
7. Luka Doncic (Age: 20)
3048 Stats - 24/8/5 with 2spg and 1bpg. 3048 shooting splits - 45/93/43
3049 Salary - $3,000,000 (3 years remaining)
Honestly, I didn’t know where to rank Sexton and Doncic because they are both so damn good going into their second year. I am biased so Doncic got the bump because of PG eligibility and size. Doncic appears to be the next Sergey Karasev and that should worry the rest of the league. He is already maxed out at inside scoring, strength, and jump shooting and still has 2 SCs and 2 RCs remaining. Oh, he also has A potential.
8. Collin Sexton (Age: 20)
3048 Stats - 32/5/6 with 2spg and 1bpg. 3048 shooting splits - 47/86/36
3049 Salary - $3,100,000 (3 years remaining)
Collin Sexton is the first player from the 3048 draft class to make this list and won’t be the last. Sexton is a beast and will probably lead the league in scoring sometime in the near future. He has 2 SCs and 2 RCs left and if he can correct his 3pt% through some TCs, he will be an absolute monster. The 6'3" rookie blocked almost 1 shot per game as a 19 year old PG. With an A potential, anything is possible with Sexton. I have no idea what it would take to get Sexton away from Ank but it might be 7+ first round draft picks.
9. Lonzo Ball (Age: 26)
3048 Stats - 28/7/10 with 3spg. 3048 shooting splits - 46/93/40
3049 - $15,000,000 (4 years remaining)
Lonzo, free of his shitty father in the TMBSL, is the engine of TimPig’s Spurs team. He’s a offensive and defensive powerhouse. I wish he blocked some shots but calling it a weakness would be doing him a disservice. His plus rebounding as a point guard is incredibly valuable as well. With that having been said, I think Lonzo is probably the “most available” player on this list if TimPig can’t surround him with better players.
10. Mitch Richmond (Age: 25)
3048 Stats - 31/8/3 with 1spg. 3048 shooting splits - 47/94/41
3049 Salary - $3,300,000 (2 years remaining)
Mitch Richmond is entering his third year in the league and is already an absolute beast. A 30ppg scorer with some upgrades remaining? Yes, please. Obviously, GMs would like him to block more shots and play better defense but he still has some time to grow with A (!!!) potential. Can't forget that his rebounding is above average as well. What gets him so high on the list is the contract, salary cap hit, and the future.
Writer’s note: I based trade value off of a number of factors including age, contract, production, and potential. With this having been said, amazing rookies are weighted slightly better. Additionally, all stats are rounded up. I probably forgot some young people but hey, these articles are supposed to spark conversation. Sue me.
