TimPig and Fecta, the PNW TMBSL crew, declined many overtures from our huge population of friends to spend our Saturday night painting Seattle red to instead record a podcast. We recorded between sims 12 and 13 (right before the trade deadline), but didn't post until today as we had a special guest on that we couldn't get until Monday morning. AgendaIntroduction Contenders Pretenders Pre-Deadline Trade Talk including Marvin to the Jazz Eric's Rookie Ladder Offseason Draft Preview Mafia including thoughts on BK and Veggie Dogs Special Guest soundcloud.com/tim-pigulski/tmbsl-71017Please remember to always be kind. Enjoy!

We were hoping that there may have been a live reveal of Sim 13 while we were recording. That would've made for some breaking content, but still loads of great content regardless.

TimPig slandering the Pacers organization. Our asking price was based on matching salaries after he asked me what I wanted. I said something like, "salaries to match will be hard," and suggested Moore and an expiring salary that, frankly, wouldn't have started for the Pacers.

I enjoyed this very much. The interview with the special guest was both the best part and the part that embarrassed me the most.

Couple of things on Jason Gardner.
I don't make the players. So it's up to 20s how good he is. When I first saw the class, I wanted to make Gardner a beast because we went to HS together. I decided to make him a high floor, low ceiling non-profile player so that I didn't completely abuse my discretion as draft master but made sure Gardner would stick around in the league as a back up at least.

Note for next time: add intro music. i might be able to help with this if you need it I can do a really shitty job of just cutting in a few seconds of a song at the beginning, but it would sound terrible. Kind of like the obvious difference between Fecta and I's conversation and the conversation we had with Rachel at the end.

young bucks hornets out here questioning the old heads, smh
for the record Vince was #6 on the final rookie ladder his year. he was behind Dirk, Lue, Vinyard, Bowen, and Rashard. three out of five ain't bad
re: scoring volume, it's a lot more elastic than you think. being the only guy on a scorched earth roster is gonna pump it way up, as are tanking depth chart choices (inside focus, etc.). it can also be valuable for a big man when it's very low - it is hard to increase scoring volume, but it's impossible to decrease it. that's why scrubs like Mike Watkins had so much life on the ladder, 7 points per 36 is low.
good pod. enjoyed it.
