Best and Worst Tankers
of the
First 4 Seasons
Best
An obvious winner in the tank sweepstakes as Fason won the lotto and made the easy decision to grab the GOAT IRL basketball player in Michael Jordan. Fason while new to TMB, has figured out how to properly tank. He has 41 million in cap room available and no bad contracts on the books. The future is very bright for the sim sixers right now. 2 years of tanking so far has resulted in the #3 and #1 pick. While Nixon looks like nothing more than a pass first PG, he still has B potential and it is entirely possible he ends up with a grade set of C+ A- A+ A D+ which would be solid enough depending on shooting percentages.

What He Should Do Now
Fason has a decision to make, does he continue to tank and go for one more run at the top of the lotto, or does he start buying and try to build a contender. he doesn't have many futures outside of his own, so if I were him, I would tank for one more year and then make a run at contention after picking up another top 10 pick. Ending up at the top of the lotto is unlikely due to Jordan, but he could use one more player.
In his first year back, 20x4 got some lotto luck and jumped from 4 to 2 in the draft. Despite fielding numerous offers for the pick, he drafted Charles Barkley (much to the dismay of Ian). His team has a lot of flexibility with 36 million in cap room, but he also has a couple of low value rookie cotracts that are on the books for two more years. Even though part of his 2 year tank job resulted in drafting Jack Sikma who now plays in detroit (probably the best decision for the Kings) However, just landing Barkley (and the fact that I had already written half the blurb for the Kings) makes him a winner.

What He Should Do Now
keep tanking. at this point 20x4 has a roster filled with potential, but nobody who should be starting on a contender (unless barkley blows up in TC) By tanking one more year, those low quality first round contracts become expirings that can be sent away as part of a package to acquire more talent. With 3 first round picks coming in the next two drafts, 20x4 is in great shape for the future. He just needs to be patient and let himself pick up another top 5 pick.
Arguably the biggest winner in the tank-a-thon as HT moved from #7 to #3 and was able to grab Hakeem. Heel has done a complete about face in terms of his GMing prowess in 4.0 and now has a very nice looking core of Grunfield and Olajuwon. He also owns all of his picks which is a nice surprise. One year of tanking nets Hakeem. He stays on the best list for obvious reasons)

What He Should Do Now
keep tanking. even if Hakeem blows up in TC, its not impossible to tank with an all star caliber big on the roster. While he probably used up his lotto luck this year, there is nothing wrong with getting another top 10 pick in next years draft.
The former Commish has done a masterful job as a GM early in 4.0 He knew he wanted to tank early and sold from day 1. He was able to parley that into a very strong roster headlined by top 5 sim player Magic Johnson who was drafted 1st overall in the first draft of 4.0. True to his nature, he has been wheeling and dealing (CTRL+F the Clippers in the owed picks thread. he is mentioned in 11 trades. That doesn't include the deals that include picks from 01-03
Future Picks
09 Clippers (will get traded soon)
What He Should Do Now
stay patient. I know he is frustrated that he hasn't got to the finals yet. Just trust in Magic. He will carry you to where you need to go.
The last winner is the Suns. Yes, I know its hard to consider someone a winner who fell out of the top 3, but Sam Bowie is a nice prospect to pick up after having the number one pick last year. He now has a very nice looking 1-2 punch in Bernard King and Bowie. As long as Bowie stays away from Portland, he should be a nice asset for ankly. In two years of tanking, he has gotten two great players that unless the software trolls him should be a lethal combo in the West for years to come.

What He Should Do Now
Tank for one more year. If BK didn't put him out of the top 2 worst teams, Bowie shouldn't put him out of the top 7. Ank should tank for one more year and then go all out in FA.
Losers
Dreams of an MJ return to the Sim-Nation's capital were dashed in the lotto. To make matters worse, Kn88 fell out of the top 3 and instead of landing Hakeem Olajuwon, he ends up with Sam Perkins. While Perkins arguably has the most intriguing grade set of any rookie, his career will hinge upon having decent potential as well as getting some TC love. Perkins has the potential to be the best player in the draft if that B potential is really A potential. Regardless, Kn88 will need his luck to turnaround son because there is not a lot of high quality talent on his team outside of Perkins. Jalen Rose at pick 2 last year isn't looking great either. It has been rough so far.
Future Picks

What he should do
Kn88 is stuck tanking for one more year. he doesn't have the assets to make any moves, so he is stuck for now.
Poor MJ. He has been tanking for 3 years and the best player is Juwan Howard and his grade set of B C- C B B A though his production is excellent. Kevin Willis at #8 is a defense first big. not what you want picking that high in the draft. Otis Birdsong, last years 1st rounder for the Magic looks solid but a PG with C handles is not good. Birdsong looks like a SG and personally, I am not a fan of SG's with C+ outside scoring.

What He Should Do Now
not to many options for everyone's favorite FSU fan. He is not close to competing, but not good enough to fully tank. If it were me, I'd blow it up, stockpile a ton of picks as the offers are sure to be high on Howard and birdsong and start over.
Why are the Knicks losers? They have been tanking since 4.0 began and really don't have anything to show for it. Dave Greenwood is probably the only all star caliber player Skrouse has acquired via the draft or trade. Unfortunately Jason Kidd looks like IRL Jason Kidd at the same point in his career with the lack of shooting ability. This looks like a franchise stuck in mediocrity.

What He Should Do
I really don't know. He is stuck in mediocrity right now. I guess hope and pray a max guy takes his talents to NY.
Yea, I am definitely a loser. I tore it down last year and drafted 2 guys that don't look like future all stars right now. This year's tank job didn't go much better.
