Fan voting has been released for the first twelve days of voting. Fans determine three frontcourt players and two backcourt players from each conference to be starters, coaches determine reserves, and the two top vote getters will be captains who choose which other starters and reserves they want.
Everybody got that?
Okay.
Let's see how bad the fans are screwing it up this year.
They got the top four of the East in win shares in, so that's decent. There are a ton of worthier candidates than Embiid but I mean... Al Horford? Kevin Love? My boy Jayson Tatum? They don't have the juice. The reserves go completely off the rails but the biggest snubs are #24 Otto Porter in the frontcourt and #28 Kemba Walker in the backcourt, so it's hard to get too peeved.
This is bad and they should feel bad. Jimmy Butler barely being in the top ten is inexcusable. Boogie starting over KAT is inexcusable. #17 DeAndre not even being on the list is inexcusable. Emanuel having more votes than Chris Paul is hilarious and also INEXCUSABLE. The highest missing guard is #25 Tyreke Evans. I can live with that.
We all snicker about how Yao got a trebillion votes every year, but man, these Laker fans are really atrocious. Reminds me of the time they voted a scrub sixth man scoring 15 ppg on 43% from the field in back in 1998. Sad!
